Instead of allying with their own on an issue that has set the GOP apart from the left for decades, however, at least two of Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell\u2019s closest allies sided with Democrats\u2019 radical abortion agenda when they voted 51 to 48 not to proceed with the legislation. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kofc.org\/en\/resources\/communications\/polls\/2023-kofc-marist-poll-cross-tabs.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Most Americans<\/a> oppose taxpayer-funded abortions yet both Sen. Susan Collins of Maine and Sen. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AndrewDesiderio\/status\/1648718913151090692?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">publicly committed along with to opposing<\/a> the resolution that would stop the Biden administration\u2019s latest attempt to force abortion costs on U.S. constituents.  <\/p>\n<p>These are the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsweek.com\/republican-senators-opposing-lindsey-graham-15-week-abortion-ban-1744177\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">same Republicans who cast doubt<\/a> on Lindsey Graham\u2019s federal abortion ban even though it would have finally brought the U.S. up to speed with the type of restrictions\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/09\/13\/make-democrats-defend-their-abortion-extremism\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">other civilized countries already have<\/a>\u00a0and what American voters, including\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/07\/28\/democrats-push-taxpayer-funded-abortion-until-birth-despite-significant-unpopularity-among-americans\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">some Democrats,<\/a>\u00a0want.<\/p>\n<p>With their no votes, collins and Murkowski threatened the GOP and Democrat Sen. Joe Manchin\u2019s last chance to prevent a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.govinfo.gov\/content\/pkg\/STATUTE-106\/pdf\/STATUTE-106-Pg4943.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">rule violating federal law<\/a> forcing Americans to fund abortions without Congress\u2019 consent and threatening healthcare workers\u2019 conscience rights from becoming regulation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAgain, this is not about <em>Dobbs<\/em>. This is not about <em>Roe [v.] Wade<\/em>. This is about an illegal rule to spend taxpayer dollars on abortion,\u201d Republican Sen.
