Roger Marshall (R-KS), add credence to the Wuhan lab leak theory <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/no-credibility-whatsoever-china-dismisses-fbi-lab-leak-theory-claim\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">vociferously rejected by Beijing<\/a> but favored by some elements of the U.S. intelligence community and others.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe preponderance of information supports the plausibility of an unintentional research-related incident that likely resulted from failures of biosafety containment during SARS-CoV-2 vaccine-related research,\u201d the report says. \u201cThe identified underlying biosafety issues increased the likelihood that such containment failures were not immediately recognized.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe possibility of unrecognized biocontainment breaches combined with SARS-CoV-2\u2019s clinical characteristics of asymptomatic and mild clinical illness in the majority of infections, likely confounded early recognition and containment of the initial outbreak,\u201d the report adds. \u201cSuch initial unrecognized infections could serve as the nidus of the outbreak of COVID-19 in Wuhan and is a plausible proximate cause of the pandemic.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Millions of deaths worldwide have been attributed to COVID since the virus emerged in the latter half of 2019. Some U.S. agencies, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/fauci-blames-attacks-on-china-not-china-for-covid-origins-impasse\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dr. Anthony Fauci<\/a>, and a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2021\/02\/09\/who-outlines-wuhan-findings-on-origins-of-covid-pandemic.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">preliminary World Health Organization assessment<\/a> from 2021 have placed more faith in the natural emergence theory over the idea that the pandemic began with a lab leak. However, there does appear to be a growing consensus moving the needle in the other direction.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/new-intel-prompts-energy-dept-to-assess-covid-likely-leaked-from-wuhan-lab-report\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New intelligence reportedly led the Energy Department<\/a> to assess with \u201clow confidence\u201d that the pandemic likely began with a lab leak, a shift from its prior stance of being undecided. FBI Director Christopher Wray <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/fbi-director-wray-pandemic-originated-in-a-chinese-lab-classified-info-supports-assessment\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told Fox News<\/a> in late February that the bureau \u201cassessed that the origins of the pandemic are most likely a potential lab incident in Wuhan.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Senate report, titled \u201cMuddy Waters,\u201d is a more complete version of an interim document released in October from the Senate Health, Education, Labor &#038; Pensions (HELP) Committee that asserted COVID <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/covid-19-most-likely-leaked-from-lab-in-china-senate-gop-report-says-11666905063?mod=article_inline\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u201cmost likely\u201d<\/a> leaked from a Wuhan lab. However, the final report does not announce a definitive conclusion about the origins of the pandemic.
