A<\/span>t least one person died and four others were injured after a New York City<\/a> parking garage collapsed Tuesday afternoon, according to New York City Mayor Eric Adams<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Officers and first responders responded strongly to the decline of the five-story parking garage in Lower Manhattan<\/a>, working to free men trapped beneath the debris. The governor confirmed the number of deaths during a news conference on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

John Esposito, the chief of operations of the New York City Fire Department, joined Adams and revealed that there were six people inside the tower when it collapsed. Although the fifth contractor was saved, she was not given medical attention.<\/p>\n

Due to the structure’s’s continued instability, Adams and Esposito revealed that very rescuers had withdrew all officers and were now conducting their search using robots and drones.<\/p>\n

Esposito echoed,” We made the decision to eliminate everyone from the tower. ” Our automation division just so happened to be close by. They arrived on the scene promptly.<\/p>\n

He continued by saying that they think everyone who was inside the tower when it collapsed was found. It will take” prolonged activity” to save and clean up.<\/p>\n

Officials added that they don’t think there was any terrible play or anything other than a fundamental decline in the event.<\/p>\n
