It was passed in accordance with the Congressional Review Act, which allows Congress to strike down regulations within 60 days of passage. Biden vetoed the resolution on April 6.<\/p>\n<p>In his veto message, Biden said that \u201cthe 2023 revised definition of \u2018Waters of the United States\u2019 carefully sets the bounds for which bodies of water are protected under the Clean Water Act.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt provides clear rules of the road that will help advance infrastructure projects, economic investments, and agricultural activities\u2014all while protecting water quality and public health.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He went on to say that repealing the regulation \u201cwould threaten economic growth, including for agriculture, local economies, and downstream communities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFarmers would be left wondering whether artificially irrigated areas remain excluded or not. Construction crews would be left wondering whether their water-filled gravel pits remain excluded or not.
