They might need a tampon. Or somebody had a boyfriend they had a fight with,&#8217;\u201d the grand jury said.<\/p>\n<p>The rapist himself suggested that LCPS officials routinely turned a blind eye to multiple people in a stall, saying \u201cThey usually don\u2019t do anything\u201d about it, according to the grand jury.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">While teachers get only $100 a year to set up their classrooms, Loudoun School Board wants to spend $11 Million on unisex bathrooms that Atoosa Reaser says will provide &#8220;complete privacy&#8221;.<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/commonsense?src=hash&#038;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#commonsense<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/lcps?src=hash&#038;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#lcps<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/RDtKm1GzPc\">pic.twitter.com\/RDtKm1GzPc<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 virginiansforcommonsense (@vacommonsense) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/vacommonsense\/status\/1647363009734483972?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 15, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Virginians for Common Sense tweeted that the design that far-left school board member Atoosa Reaser boasted would offer \u201ccomplete privacy\u201d would also provide complete opportunity for misconduct. It \u201cenables assault and drug use\u201d and provides \u201cno escape route,\u201d the tweet said. It is also less sanitary, it said \u2014 there would be no urinals, leaving teenage girls to share a toilet used by boys.<\/p>\n<p>It also provides \u201cslower detection\/response to unconscious patrons,\u201d the group said.<\/p>\n<p>This year just across the Potomac River from Loudoun in Montgomery County, Maryland, two girls were found <a href=\"https:\/\/wtop.com\/local\/2023\/01\/two-students-found-passed-out-in-high-school-bathroom\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">passed out<\/a> in a high school bathroom, while a third girl overdosed on fentanyl and was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcwashington.com\/news\/local\/student-revived-with-narcan-after-possible-overdose-at-wheaton-school\/3262831\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">revived<\/a> with Narcan after being discovered. Spanish-language media quoted a student at the school who said of drugs in the bathroom, \u201cYou will see that every day basically, in every bathroom.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Beth Barts, who was the school board\u2019s most far-left member during the rape and resigned in its aftermath, criticized the move being pushed by her Democratic former colleagues.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe first time a child dies in one of those floor to ceiling rooms, the community will revolt. No one actually uses the bathrooms for their purpose in high schools unless they absolutely have to,\u201d she wrote on Facebook, according to screenshots obtained by the Daily Wire. \u201cPrincipals are already dealing with kids who use the bathrooms to get high, vape, skip, have sex or just meet up. Floor to ceiling \u2018private rooms\u2019 are simply going to add to the ease of doing these things without getting caught,\u201d she wrote. \u201cSome things that sound good in a think tank are just a bad idea when implemented in real life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In a statement, Gov. Glenn Youngkin told The Daily Wire that \u201cThe governor was clear in his 2022 draft model policies that he expects Virginia schools to separate their bathrooms by sex. Loudoun County public schools\u2019 foremost concern should be protecting students after a sexual assault occurred in their bathrooms\u2026 In the event that students require additional accommodations, a single-use bathroom should be made available.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Phyllis Randall, the chair of the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors, did not return a request for comment. The supervisors and school board met Monday to discuss school safety, including questions raised by the handling of the rape, in which the school system falsely claimed that the federal Title IX prevented it from disciplining the student.<\/p>\n<p>The doubling down on restrooms that could provide room for sexual assaults\u2013between students of any gender identity \u2014 comes as Loudoun is raising eyebrows by refusing to turn over an internal report it commissioned on its handling of the rape, despite both a subpoena from the attorney general\u2019s office and a lawsuit.<\/p>\n<p>On Twitter, the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ProjectVirginia\/status\/1647783451607662592\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Virginia Project<\/a> said that\u00a0\u201cThis brings us back to the \u2018independent\u2019 report LCPS refuses to release. What\u2019s in it?,\u201d the group said. \u201cIt stands to reason that one thing it contains is the confession that \u2018let kids have sex in bathrooms\u2019 is the de facto policy well known to staff. This will bankrupt them in court.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe purpose of this bathroom design change is perfectly clear: to lessen LCPS\u2019 liability for future rapes in the bathrooms,\u201d it opined. \u201cNot to prevent any rapes; this design clearly increases the risk.
