Mike Johnson( R-La.) said,&#8221; This hear, of course, is about the violent crime spree and the soft-on-crime laws that have been instituted by Soros-funded DAs.&#8221; asserted, stating that Congress is in charge of the federal backing that city attorneys&#8217; offices receive.<\/p>\n<p>We have a duty as the taxpayers&#8217; money managers to find out if any of that cash has been wasted or misused and make sure it isn&#8217;t.<\/p>\n<p>Following Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg&#8217;s&#8217;s recent decision to pursue allegations of misrepresentation of business records against previous President Donald Trump, which Republicans claim are politically motivated, the committee decided to concentrate on violence in Manhattan.<\/p>\n<p>Given that Bragg downgraded more than half of the criminal acts his work reviewed last year to misdemeanors, his decision to bring that case against Trump has raised eyebrows on both political legs.<\/p>\n<p>In January 2022, Bragg took work. ( Chung I Ho\/ The Times of the Epoch )<\/figure>\n<p>However, House Republicans claim that Bragg is just one of many city lawyers who have politicized their positions at the Republican mega-donor George Soros&#8217; request.<\/p>\n<p>At least 75 district attorneys in the United States had been elected with Soros&#8217; support, according to a report by the Law Enforcement Legal Defense Fund( <a href=\"https:\/\/www.policedefense.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Justice_For_Sale_LELDF_report.pdf\">pdf<\/a> ) from June 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Rep. Jeff Van Drew( R-N) stated that&#8221; large sums of money from George Soros go to a PAC, which now goes to fund these very left-wing Coney that quite commonly did never triumph.&#8221; J.. ) argued. That is the problem, then. The problem is that they&#8217;re&#8217;re seizing control of the prosecutor&#8217;s&#8217;s office and turning it into a purely political position.<\/p>\n<p>Even worse than that, they&#8217;re&#8217;re turning the prosecutor&#8217;s&#8217;s office into a place where American victims and victims in the cities of New York, San Francisco, New Orleans, and many others aren&#8217;t being protected, defended, or stood up for.<\/p>\n<p>&#8221; It&#8217;s&#8217;s wrong; in fact, I&#8217;m&#8217;m evil.&#8221; Criminals ought to be behind bars.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Democrats React<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Democrats, like Judiciary Committee Ranking Democratic Member Jerrold Nadler( D &#8211; N ), claim that Democrat district attorneys like Bragg are abusing their positions for political gain. Y. , have claimed that House Republicans are carrying out the same action by looking into Bragg.<\/p>\n<p>Nadler stated in his opening remarks at the hearing on April 17 that&#8221; Committee Republicans designed this listening to terrify and hinder the duly elected district attorney of Manhattan from doing the work his components elected him to perform.&#8221; They are utilizing this committee&#8217;s&#8217;s methods and public offices to defend their social ally, Donald Trump. It is a blatant abuse of authority.
