That seems very possible, since the institute studied coronaviruses in bats, and America\u2019s National Institutes of Health gave the lab money to perform \u201cgain-of-function\u201d research, experiments where scientists try to make a virus more virulent or transmissible.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A Washington Post writer worried the lab leak theory \u201ccould increase racist attacks against Chinese people and further fuel anti-Asian hate.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The establishment media fell in line, insisting that COVID most likely came from a local market that sold animals.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Left-wing TV mocked the lab theory as a \u201cfringe idea\u201d that came from \u201ca certain corner of the right.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThis coronavirus was not manmade,\u201d said MSNBC\u2019s Chris Hayes, confidently, \u201cThat is <em>not<\/em> a possibility.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Not even a possibility?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Debate about it, we were told, posed a new threat: misinformation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Facebook banned the lab leak theory, calling it a \u201cfalse claim.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But now the U.S. Department of Energy says the pandemic most likely came from a lab leak. Rand Paul for saying, \u201cMost of the masks you get over the counter don\u2019t work.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But what they said is true. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention updated its guidance to say cloth masks are not very effective. And now a big study failed to find evidence that wearing even good masks stops the spread of viruses.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Probably the most blatant censorship was Twitter\u2019s shutting down the New York Post\u2019s reporting about Hunter Biden\u2019s laptop.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Twitter wouldn\u2019t let users decide for themselves. The company just called the Post\u2019s report \u201cpotentially harmful\u201d and blocked users from sharing it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Facebook, as usual, was sneakier, suppressing the story instead of banning it outright. That\u2019s what they do to my climate change reporting.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Today, the media admit the Post story is true. But they don\u2019t admit they were wrong. Now they just say things like, \u201cNobody cares about Hunter Biden\u2019s laptop.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bad as the media are, what\u2019s worse is that government wanted to censor.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sen.
