President Biden also talked about the complex challenges brought about by the UK&#8217;s departure from the European Union and encouraged leaders from the UK and the EU to address these issues in a way that best serves the people of Northern Ireland.<\/p>\n<p>President Biden also referenced the attempted murder of Detective Chief Inspector John Caldwell in February and praised politicians for their unity in the aftermath of the shooting. He added that the democratic institutions established by the Good Friday Agreement remain crucial to the future of Northern Ireland. Furthermore, he emphasized the willingness of the United States to support Northern Ireland&#8217;s economic potential and that economic opportunities are in store for Belfast, as well as for other communities across the United Kingdom, Ireland, and the US. <\/p>\n<h2>White House denies claims that President Biden is &#8220;Anti-British&#8221;<\/h2>\n<p>President Biden met with UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak for talks in Belfast regarding the political situation in Northern Ireland. However, some politicians and media outlets have suggested that President Biden may be &#8220;anti-British.&#8221; Both the former leader of the DUP, Dame Arlene Foster, and DUP MP Sammy Wilson have made statements suggesting a bias against British interests exists. Despite these claims, the White House denied such allegations during the meeting.
