The 2024 Senate map will be one of the more difficult for Democrats in years, with the party <\/span><span>on defense in both swing states and red states\u2014including Montana, Ohio, and West Virginia. Democrats hold a fragile 51-49 majority. According to legislative tracking site Roll Call, Democrats must <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/rollcall.com\/2023\/01\/17\/senate-2024-democrats-face-lopsided-battlefield\/\"><span>defend<\/span><\/a><span> eight vulnerable seats in 2024 while Republicans will have no vulnerable incumbents.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Casey is a rubber stamp for President Joe Biden\u2019s agenda, voting with Biden 99 percent of the time, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/projects.fivethirtyeight.com\/biden-congress-votes\/robert-p-casey-jr\/\"><span>according<\/span><\/a><span> to FiveThirtyEight. He is also close friends with Biden, who shares his hometown of Scranton, Pennsylvania.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>In response to the announcement, the Senate Republicans&#8217; campaign arm <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nrsc.org\/uncategorized\/nrsc-statement-on-bob-casey-reelection-announcement-2023-04-10\/\"><span>criticized<\/span><\/a><span> Casey for hiring his sister\u2019s company to print campaign handouts. His campaign has paid the printing company more than $500,000 over the last 20 years.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>&#8220;Bob Casey has made a career of shady self-dealing and selling his voters out to the highest bidder,&#8221; <\/span><span>said<\/span><span> Philip Letsou, spokesman for the National Republican Senatorial Committee.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Casey said he is running <\/span><span>because he wants &#8220;to keep delivering results for Pennsylvania.&#8221; He pointed to helping families, taking on China, and working through Washington gridlock in his <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2023\/04\/10\/bob-casey-senate-reelection-00091186\"><span>statement<\/span><\/a><span>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The announcement <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/?post_type=post&#038;p=1694055\"><span>comes<\/span><\/a><span> a month after Sen. Jon Tester (D., Mont.) said he would <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/?post_type=post&#038;p=1694055\"><span>run<\/span><\/a><span> for reelection, similarly good news for Democrats as they defend the vulnerable seat.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sen.
