Republican lawmakers removed Democrat Tennessee<\/a> state representative Justin Jones from the government last week for his involvement in protests in the wake of a density school shooting. Jones was reappointed to the state House on Monday afternoon.<\/p>\n

The freshman senator was given the go-ahead to take his previous chair by a unanimous vote of 36 to 0 on the Nashville Metro Council. The vote was cast five years after Jones and state representative Justin Pearson, who was also a Democrat, were fired from their positions by the Republican supermajority on the grounds that the two men had attempted to incite violence by bringing bullhorns to the House ground while they were protesting against gun control. White Democrat State Rep. Gloria Johnson, who took part in the protest, survived her exclusion voting.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday, it is anticipated that the Shelby County Commission will decide whether to re-appoint Pearson to his position.<\/p>\n

Jones allegedly jumped onto a bench days before the vote on Monday and began to treat his supporters. He promised that a new era may bring about gun reform and referred to Republican Tennessee House Speaker Cameron Sexton as an” fundamentalist.”<\/p>\n

If he is reappointed, both Jones and Pearson may be required to run for office again in a unique vote for their tickets.<\/p>\n

Jones and Pearson went from being local politicians to social victims, receiving praise from the White Hous<\/a>e and gifts for their election campaigns from all over the nation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
