The report acknowledged that the men were&#8221; true friends ,&#8221; according to those questioned for it.<\/p>\n<p>Before acknowledging that&#8221; there are few restrictions on what gifts justices can accept ,&#8221; Thomas has reportedly accepted the gifts for many years.<\/p>\n<p>The report continued,&#8221; That&#8217;s in&#8217;s contrast to the other branches of government.&#8221; &#8221; Members of Congress are typically not allowed to accept gifts worth$ 50 or more, and they would need an ethics committee&#8217;s pre-approval&#8217;s before taking many of the trips Thomas has accepted from Crow.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Harlan and Kathy Crow were some of Thomas and his wife&#8217;s&#8221;&#8216;s dearest friends, and we have been friends for over twenty-five years ,&#8221; Thomas said in response to the story.<\/p>\n<p>In the more than 25 years that we have known them, Thomas said,&#8221; We have accompanied them on a number of family outings as friends do.&#8221; &#8221; At the beginning of my tenure at the Court, I sought advice from my coworkers and other members of the court, and I was told that this kind of personal kindness from close friends who did not possess market before the court was not reportable.&#8221; Throughout my career, I have made an effort to meet that counsel and have always tried to abide by the disclosure guidelines.<\/p>\n<p>As the council of the Judicial Conference responsible for financial reporting for the entire national courts just this past quarter announced new information, these instructions are now being changed, he continued. &#8221; And it goes without saying that I intend to heed this advice going forward.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Thomases never requested any of the&#8221; hospitality&#8221; Crow offered them, according to the publication, which was&#8221; no different from the hospitality we have extended to our many other dear friends.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><b><a href=\"https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" aria-describedby=\"sk-tooltip-9096\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp&#038;source=gmail&#038;ust=1680795232291000&#038;usg=AOvVaw2P5VXRE91chuqYyZnEBGLw\">GET THE DAILYWIRE + APP BY CLICKING HERE<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Crow claimed that he and his family have never spoken with Thomas about criminal issues and have&#8221; never attempted to influence Justice Thomas on any formal or political problem.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Crow stated that he would&#8221; never ask anyone who I believe had any motive of&#8221; trying to lobby Thomas for criminal or political issues.
