The Democrat-signed bill extends their political influence and backs up plans to alter the election policies of several blue states.\u00a0As previously noted, the Democrats&#8217; hopes have been the federalization of state elections through their failed HR 1 bill. With &#8216;New Mexico Voting Rights Act,&#8217; Democrats aim to make similar changes in individual states, including those where they have full control of their government, as seen in New Mexico.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2-long d-flex justify-content-center\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-226399059\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1379703300879-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-d3e658327ca4237fa8f33944295b0b1d fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-d3e658327ca4237fa8f33944295b0b1d\"><\/div>\n<p>Here&#8217;s a rundown of what the bill states.<\/p>\n<h2>Automatic Voter Registration<\/h2>\n<p>Starting in 2025, anyone who applies for a driver&#8217;s license in New Mexico is automatically registered to vote, as well as in other public offices designated by the Secretary of State. Critics of the move say that it puts undue pressure on those applying for federal or state benefits to align with their preferred political or candidate position. Additionally, the chance of accidentally granting the right to vote to non-citizen residents has significantly increased.
