Not the least of these was Hillary\u2019s decision to <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2016\/07\/20\/why-rnc-convention-calls-to-lock-her-up-are-entirely-reasonable\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">commit what amounts to multiple felonies<\/a> by using an insecure private email system to conduct top-secret public business while U.S. secretary of state under Barack Obama. <\/p>\n<p>This criminal behavior that so-called U.S. justice systems openly and <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2018\/05\/01\/selective-memory-suggests-james-comey-slow-walked-fbis-investigation-hillary-clinton\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">repeatedly refused<\/a> to punish was undertaken to hide treasonous actions. Those include selling political access and favors to foreign adversaries, as journalist Peter Schweizer and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Resistance-at-All-Costs-audiobook\/dp\/B07Y43DG8X\/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=kimberly+strassel&#038;s=books&#038;sr=1-1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">others<\/a>, including The Federalist and members of Congress, have <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Clinton_Cash\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">repeatedly <\/a>and <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/03\/18\/spygate-101-a-primer-on-the-russia-collusion-hoaxs-years-long-plot-to-take-down-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">thoroughly <\/a>documented. <\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2-long d-flex justify-content-center\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-1767175948\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1379703300879-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div  class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-bfbf237faecc5783c405ab4419251885 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-bfbf237faecc5783c405ab4419251885\"><\/div>\n<p>Selling political favors to foreign opponents, including communist China and authoritarian Russia, is clearly treason. The American Heritage Dictionary defines \u201ctreason\u201d as: \u201cThe betrayal of allegiance toward one\u2019s own country, especially by committing hostile acts against it or aiding its enemies in committing such acts.\u201d The Clintons got filthy rich from it.<\/p>\n<p>Clinton then compounded that with more treasonous conduct when she lost the 2016 election to Donald Trump. <\/p>\n<p>It is by now <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Obsession-Inside-Washington-Establishments-Never-Ending\/dp\/1684511062\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">well-established<\/a> that Hillary Clinton\u2019s campaign paid various actors to lie to U.S. intelligence agencies about Trump in an operation that eventually essentially negated the 2016 election \u2014 including encouraging federal employees\u2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2020\/11\/13\/senior-administration-officials-lied-to-trump-about-troop-levels-so-he-wouldnt-pull-out-of-syria\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">treasonous behavior<\/a> and two falsely predicated impeachments \u2014 and helped lose Republicans the 2020 election. Her campaign even tacitly confirmed this by paying <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/03\/30\/clinton-campaign-dnc-fined-by-fec-for-lying-about-steele-dossier-payments\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">a slap-on-the-wrist<\/a> Federal Election Commission fine while still refusing to admit guilt for it a few weeks ago, <em>seven years<\/em> after the fact.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\"> <span class=\"1gF1eJi0ILZxPybqKnNbfJSXoDD2TWYtvldkc6mEPwHis4B7ycmrCRR6H93OpV5QeYWwMtnUlVGraNSGzzM35ZgQ\"><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">BREAKING: Last year Hillary Clinton quietly settled a campaign finance violation over reporting the *Steele Dossier* funding as legal services <\/p>\n<p>She paid a fine and was never arrested <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/MoIoClVaQ8\">pic.twitter.com\/MoIoClVaQ8<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Jack Posobiec \ud83c\uddfa\ud83c\uddf8 (@JackPosobiec) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JackPosobiec\/status\/1641591014329823232?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 30, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/span> <\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Did FBI agents ever show up at Hillary Clinton\u2019s house over her <a href=\"https:\/\/thepoliticalinsider.com\/hillary-clinton-email-law-broke\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">clearly criminal<\/a> and treasonous \u201cdocuments dispute\u201d? Nope. The FBI\u2019s director instead essentially confirmed she had committed multiple felonies but decided not to investigate or prosecute her for it because she was a presidential candidate for a major political party.<\/p>\n<div  class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-2ffa0803c6f30eaa89bdeebf86e49b85 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-2ffa0803c6f30eaa89bdeebf86e49b85\"><\/div>\n<p>Hillary paid to have Trump falsely smeared as a traitor, laundering the slander through U.S. agencies that are supposed to provide equal justice under the law but now function as weapons to damage Democrats\u2019 political opposition. In conjunction with others in the Obama administration that <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2020\/05\/08\/obama-biden-oval-office-meeting-on-january-5-was-key-to-entire-anti-trump-operation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">likely include Obama himself<\/a>, she colluded with multiple security-state agencies to slander, undermine, hamper, and now threaten with jail time Democrats\u2019 top political opponent. <\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s treason. It\u2019s election erasure. It\u2019s ongoing. And these traitors are all running about totally scot-free, while they jail their political opponents for <a href=\"https:\/\/amgreatness.com\/2023\/03\/10\/a-handy-january-6-fact-sheet\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">what at best are misdemeanors<\/a>, and for which they refuse to prosecute anyone on the left who perpetrates them \u2014 from street rioters all the way up to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Secret-Empires-American-Political-Corruption-ebook\/dp\/B07RC557SQ?ref_=ast_author_dp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">their presidential candidates<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>My colleague Elle Purnell <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/04\/01\/with-trump-indictment-revisit-20-times-leftists-melted-down-over-lock-her-up-hillary-gibe\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">pointed out<\/a> that when Trump countenanced chants of \u201clock her up\u201d at his rallies over Clinton\u2019s never-penalized repeat criminal behavior, Democrats lost their minds, and insisted this was the stuff of dictatorships, tyranny, and political repression. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cDictatorships lock up the opposition, not democracies,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2016\/07\/20\/why-rnc-convention-calls-to-lock-her-up-are-entirely-reasonable\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said <\/a>Spygate intelligence official Michael McFaul. \u201cSince when do Americans advocate jailing political opponents?\u201d said top Spygate propagandist Julia Ioffe, then at Politico.<\/p>\n<div  class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-796f83480c7f3325a2f0eed9a373f078 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-10\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-796f83480c7f3325a2f0eed9a373f078\"><\/div>\n<p>\u201cIn a democracy, you can\u2019t threaten to jail your opponents,\u201d Obama <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/04\/01\/with-trump-indictment-revisit-20-times-leftists-melted-down-over-lock-her-up-hillary-gibe\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said <\/a>in 2016. \u201cWe have fought against those kinds of things.\u201d \u201cIn America, we don\u2019t send our political opponents to jail,\u201d\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TheDemocrats\/status\/785478673323339776?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">tweeted<\/a>\u00a0an official Democratic National Committee Twitter account.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\"> <span class=\"qOdX37o1FVIQqWKj32uMyIkmiihAgrQtFl9Vn50RZEJjXfY88gGxLdswEZr5s0NShplbPGuAzYe9evT\"><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">REMINDER In 2016 Trump got huge laughs for telling Hillary Clinton she&#8217;d be in jail if he was in charge of the law Then there was four years of agitprop about how this proved that Trump was &#8220;a dictator who wanted to imprison his political opponents.&#8221;<a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/jJADWmsMSj\">https:\/\/t.co\/jJADWmsMSj<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/hNgTVnmI5W\">pic.twitter.com\/hNgTVnmI5W<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Michael Malice (@michaelmalice) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/michaelmalice\/status\/1583556975983747072?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 21, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/span> <\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>The Clintons are clearly traitors willing to endanger their nation for profit, and it would be fully just to prosecute them as such. Yet as president when he had the chance, Trump decided not to pursue it. According to Trump Attorney General Bill Barr\u2019s recently published memoir, \u201cTrump brought up the investigation into Hillary Clinton\u2019s emails and surprised Barr by saying that he had wanted the matter to be dropped after the 2016 election,\u201d according to <a href=\"https:\/\/claremontreviewofbooks.com\/law-man\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">a review of Barr\u2019s memoir<\/a> in the fall 2022 Claremont Review of Books.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u2018Even if she were guilty,\u2019 he told Barr, \u201cfor the election winner to seek prosecution of the loser would make the country look like a \u2018banana republic.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ever since riding down his golden escalator, Trump has been ceaselessly vilified as a tinpot dictator, an evil supervillain, an authoritarian, the second coming of Adolf Hitler. But Democrats cannot change the facts, which include that Trump had fully legitimate justification to prosecute his horribly corrupt political opponent and refused to do so. They can make no such argument for themselves. <\/p>\n<p>So if it is indeed the stuff of banana republics and ending democracies to jail one\u2019s political opponents, let\u2019s all be clear about which political party is dragging the nation down that route.
