Relying on the Supreme Court&#8217;s 2022 decision in <i>New York State Rifle &#038; Pistol Ass&#8217;n v. Relying on the Supreme Court&#8217;s 2022 decision in <i>New York State Rifle &#038; Pistol Ass&#8217;n v. The Supreme Court majority held that the government must demonstrate that a firearm regulation &#8220;is consistent with the Nation&#8217;s historical tradition of firearm regulation&#8221; for it to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/category\/us\/personal-freedoms\/second-amendment\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pass constitutional muster<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The practical effect of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/supreme-court-gun-decision-shoots-down-ny-rule-high-bar-concealed-carry-licenses\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the Supreme Court&#8217;s ruling<\/a>, Menendez wrote, is that courts are not permitted to weigh the state&#8217;s policy concerns nor consider &#8220;the wisdom behind enacting a 21-year-old requirement for publicly carrying a handgun.&#8221; \u00a0<\/p>\n<div class=\"ad-container mobile ad-h-250 ad-w-300 ad-placeholder-load\"><!----> <\/p>\n<div data-iu=\"ban3\" id=\"mobile-mw-ad-ban3\" class=\"ad gam inline\" data-ad-lz=\"1\"><\/div>\n<p> <script>         if (window && window.foxstrike && Array.isArray(window.foxstrike.cmd)) {           window.foxstrike.cmd.push(function(Strike) {             Strike.insertAd('mobile', 'ban3', 'mobile-mw-ad-ban3');           });         } else {           console.error('Error: window.foxstrike not found');         }       <\/script><\/div>\n<p>&#8220;Given the relative dearth of firearms regulation from the most relevant period where that lens is aimed, the endeavor of applying <i>Bruen<\/i> seems likely to lead, generally, to more guns in the hands of more people, not just young adults,&#8221; Menendez noted.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Some Minnesotans are surely fine with that result,&#8221; the judge continued. &#8220;Others may wonder what public safety measures are left to be achieved through the political process where guns are concerned.
