This was disclosed to House Republicans in a letter obtained by Breitbart News from Leslie Dubeck, Bragg&#8217;s general counsel, who wrote to three GOP chairmen, Representatives Jim Jordan, James Comer, and Bryan Steil. The funds were used between October 2019 and August 2021, before Bragg took office.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" data-google-query-id=\"CI7S_72Qif4CFVrlswodXi0N3Q\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\"><\/figure>\n<p>Dubeck informed that the district attorney\u2019s office was enrolled in three federal grant programs, which together provide more than $2 million for its casework, but these grants were not used to pay Trump investigation expenses.<\/p>\n<p>The letter from Dubeck was sent in response to the Republicans, as they continue to demand Bragg&#8217;s testimony before Congress and all documents and communications relating to the Trump investigation. Bragg&#8217;s office indicted Trump on Thursday following an unprecedented move, which has elicited nationwide reactions.<\/p>\n<p>Dubeck blasted the Republicans for suggesting that the investigation of Trump was politically motivated. She also accused them of &#8220;acting more like criminal defense counsel trying to gather evidence for a client than a legislative body seeking to achieve a legitimate legislative objective.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>While the chairmen have not made their plans to respond to Bragg public at this stage, the Judiciary Committee has denied a claim made by Fox News on social media Friday that they were planning to &#8220;take a step back&#8221; from their work while awaiting Trump\u2019s arraignment.<\/p>\n<p>Examining the use of federal funds, which Dubeck confirmed Bragg\u2019s office uses, is well within Congress\u2019s jurisdiction and helps the Republicans\u2019 contention that they are within their right to investigate Bragg&#8217;s office.
