A photo posted on the school&#8217;s Instagram <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/CpyBCFOvbIb\/?hl=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">shows<\/a> the students with the judge, who discussed &#8220;the human side of being a justice&#8221; and &#8220;how to be an effective advocate,&#8221; according to the post. Students were agitated in the comments, calling for Columbia to &#8220;do better&#8221; and describing the meeting as &#8220;incredibly humiliating.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>This episode provides further proof of law school campuses swaying leftward and away from free speech. Earlier this month, Stanford University law students and the school&#8217;s diversity dean <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/campus\/dogshit-federal-judge-decries-disruption-of-his-remarks-by-stanford-law-students-and-calls-for-termination-of-the-stanford-dean-who-joined-the-protesters\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">shouted<\/a> down Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals judge Kyle Duncan. Students later <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/campus\/student-activists-target-stanford-law-school-dean-in-revolt-over-her-apology\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">protested<\/a> the school&#8217;s apology for Duncan&#8217;s botched speech.<\/p>\n<p>Columbia students and graduates had a similar reaction to the Instagram post. &#8220;As an alumnus, this is shameful and unnecessary on so many levels,&#8221; one commenter wrote.<\/p>\n<p>Several posters noted that the photo was uploaded during Women&#8217;s History Month. &#8220;Why is this still up??? I&#8217;m embarrassed to be associated with you,&#8221; another user said.<\/p>\n<p>Student groups including the Black Law Students Association of Columbia and the abortion rights organization If\/When\/How wrote letters demanding that the post be taken down, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/columbia-law-students-are-upset-brett-kavanaugh-meeting-federalist-society-stanford-free-speech-8da5f027?mod=djemalertNEWS\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">according<\/a> to the <i>Wall Street Journal<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p>The Black Law Students Association stated that it would not support Columbia&#8217;s efforts to recruit black students because &#8220;the Columbia Law School administration may be comfortable wallowing in &#8216;apoliticism&#8217; and neutrality, but we are not.&#8221;<\/p>\n<div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/winred.tomcotton.com\/tom-cotton\/tik-tok-beacon-ads?utm_source=rc&#038;utm_medium=fbads&#038;utm_campaign=bantiktok\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/winred.tomcotton.com\/tom-cotton\/tik-tok-beacon-ads?utm_source=rc&#038;utm_medium=fbads&#038;utm_campaign=bantiktok\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><\/a><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Law schools are following the lead of undergraduate universities, which have <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/campus\/video-watch-what-keeps-happening-to-conservative-speakers-at-elite-colleges\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">frequently witnessed<\/a> violence and chaos during conservative events and speeches.
