Mississippi<\/a>r<\/span>esidents affected by the severe weather<\/a> from last weekend have been given a few extra months to file their taxes this year. <\/p>\n

Various individuals and businesses impacted by the current winds will have until July 31 to submit their tax returns and pay any taxes that were previously scheduled on April 18. According to the Internal Revenue Service, Carroll, Humphreys, Monroe, and Sharkey are regions that are available for this pause, along with other regions chosen by the Federal Emergency Management Agency.<\/p>\n

The estimated tax<\/a> payments, which are typically due on April 18 and June 15, as well as the payment and tax<\/a> income returns that are generally due by April 30, are all included in the pause until the end of July. However, tax<\/a>payers who qualify must contribute to their various retirement and health savings accounts by July 31 in 2022.<\/p>\n

After being affected by bad weather, residents in some states have also been given more time to file their taxes. Areas affected by the crisis in California, Georgia, and Alabama have until October 16 to file their taxes, the IRS announced last month.<\/p>\n

At least 26 people died as a result of the hurricanes and other severe winds that ravaged Mississippi over the course of Friday and Saturday. President Joe Biden declared a disaster on Sunday, and the affected four counties had access to federal money.<\/p>\n

The White House stated in a statement<\/a> that assistance could include offers for short-term houses and home inspection, low-cost loans to pay for uninsured property losses, and other initiatives to assist people and business owners in recovering from the disaster’s effects.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
