Following estimates that Hussein had weapons of mass destruction, the moment permitted the U.S. war to enter Iraq.<\/p>\n<p>He was taken prisoner by American soldiers in 2003, and in 2006, he was put to death in Iraq.<\/p>\n<p>The Democrat-controlled Senate rejected the GOP senators&#8217; proposed revisions before the final vote, which hardly required a simple majority. 60 seats were required for the modifications to be approved.<\/p>\n<p>Democrats in the Senate, including Chuck Schumer, Senate Majority Leader ( D &#8211; N. Y.
