A transgender killed six people, including three young children. TRN expressed their &#8220;deepest sympathies and heartfelt prayers&#8221; to the families of the victims. They claimed that the killer felt their only way to be seen was to lash out by taking others&#8217; lives, and by consequence, their own. The group later stated that &#8220;hate has consequences.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Although the group admitted that they did not know the individual and had no access to their inner thoughts, they claimed that being transgender is hard due to anti-trans legislation and public callouts by right-wing personalities and political figures. They demanded that news organizations use self-identified pronouns of transgender individuals who come across their desks. The group withdrew their statement from social media due to considerable backlash.<\/p>\n<p>Metro Nashville Police Chief John Drake reported that the 28-year-old killer was &#8220;receiving care for an emotional disorder.&#8221; Drake also stated that law enforcement knew nothing about her treatment.
