He was taken to the hospital and treated for his injury and mild breast bone. Five years after being released from the hospital, he followed his doctor&#8217;s advice and checked into an intensive rehab facility.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>&#8221; I sincerely appreciate all of your friendly intentions. In the statement released on Saturday, McConnell said,&#8221; I&#8217;m happy to say that I finished acute physical treatment earlier today and I&#8217;re glad to be home.&#8221; &#8221; I&#8217;m going to take my bodily therapists&#8217; information and work from home for Kentuckians and the Republican Conference for the next few day.&#8221; My Senate associates and professionals are in constant contact with me. I&#8217;m looking forward to going back to the Senate in individual suddenly.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>According to an aide, McConnell will not return to the Senate before its two-week recess that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/news\/politics\/2023\/03\/25\/mitch-mcconnell-home-rehab-after-fall-return-senate-soon\/11543766002\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">begins<\/a> on April 3, POLITICO <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2023\/03\/25\/mitch-mcconnell-returns-home-after-concussion-00088840\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span>reported<\/span><\/a>. He will discuss his upcoming return w<span>ith physical therapists, who will help make that determination, the aide added.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>McConnell was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2023\/03\/25\/us\/politics\/mitch-mcconnell-released-inpatient-rehab.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">hospitalized<\/a> at George Washington University Hospital in Washington, D.C., and said his recovery was \u201cproceeding well.\u201d Republican colleagues who have spoken with the minority leader <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/senate\/mitch-mcconnell-alive-amid-recovery-from-tumble\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span>said<\/span><\/a><span> he is eager to return to the Senate.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cHe sounded very sharp,\u201d Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2023\/03\/22\/mitch-mcconnell-is-alive-and-well-is-eager-to-return\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span>said<\/span><\/a><span> of a call he had with McConnell. \u201cI think just frustrated, as you might imagine, having to go through all this,\u201d he said, adding, \u201cI told him not to be in a big hurry, because we\u2019re not doing anything here.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>A damaged back from a drop at McConnell&#8217;s Kentucky house in 2019 is one of the injuries he occasionally sustains due to his balance problems. He has survived polio.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The treatment of McConnell occurs as Sens. She is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsnationnow.com\/politics\/senate-absences-feinstein-fetterman-mcconnell-impact\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reportedly<\/a> again at her house right now, healing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Fetterman checked himself into the hospital on the night of February 15 at the recommendation of the attending physician of the United States Congress after experiencing symptoms of severe depression. NBC News <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/senator-fetterman-to-be-hospitalized-for-weeks-after-checking-himself-into-hospital\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span>reported<\/span><\/a><span> that Fetterman was expected to be hospitalized for weeks.
