We pledged to accomplish three objectives when we first began negotiating with SEIU. Additionally, current employees who participated in the district&#8217;s 2020 \u2013 21 academic year will receive a$ 1,000 bonus as compensation for their in-person work during the <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/coronavirus\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">COVID-19<\/a> pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>Healthcare benefits for workers who put in at least four hours a day are also included in this agreement, along with salary increases of 6 % retroactive to July 1, 2022, 7 % ongoing wage increases effective July 1st, 2023, and$ 2 per hour increases for all employees as of January 1. 2024.<\/p>\n<p>In a number of comments posted on social media, the coalition has praised the contract.<\/p>\n<p>According to a union statement posted on social media,&#8221; Our fight brought our city and country together.&#8221; &#8221; Mayor Karen Bass played a key role in persuading the District to start listening to our needs.&#8221;<\/p>\n<div class=\"Enhancement\">\n<div class=\"Enhancement-item\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Our battle united our neighborhood and nation.
