N. Secretary-General <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/world-leaders-gather-to-condemn-fossil-fuel-addiction-as-planet-faces-energy-crisis\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Antonio Guterres<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/united-nations\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">United Nations<\/a>&#8216; efforts to find new ways to manage the country&#8217;s drinking offer are essential to the survival of humanity.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Guterres warned nations about water shortages and hygiene at a meeting on global drinking resources earlier this week and urged&#8221; a new system&#8221; of actions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cAll of humanity\u2019s hopes for the future depend, in some way, on charting a new course to sustainably manage and conserve water,\u201d Guterres said in his final remarks for the conference on Friday, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/united-nation-world-water-c69420149134954e6648531425cc0637\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span>according<\/span><\/a><span> to the Associated Press. The U.N. chief added that water \u201cneeds to be at the center of the global political agenda.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Prior to the conference, Guterres <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/sdgs.un.org\/conferences\/water2023\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span>remarked<\/span><\/a><span> that this year\u2019s gathering, which was hosted by Tajikistan and the Netherlands, \u201cmust result in a bold Water Action Agenda that gives our world\u2019s lifeblood the commitment it deserves.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>By 2030, the U.N. wants everyone to have access to clean water, sanitation, and hygiene, which it refers to as&#8221; SDG6.&#8221; The U.N. attributes the steam shortages experienced by poorer nations to climate change and inadequate water investment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>To push for more control of the world\u2019s water systems, SDG6 <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.un.org\/sustainabledevelopment\/water-and-sanitation\/#:~:text=Goal%206%3A%20Ensure%20access%20to,in%202030%20unless%20progress%20quadruples.\"><span>outlines<\/span><\/a><span> six targets for the world to hit by 2030, the last of which seeks to \u201cexpand international cooperation and capacity-building support to developing countries in water- and sanitation-related activities and programs, including water harvesting, desalination, water efficiency, wastewater treatment, recycling and reuse technologies.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>A <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=JsGrGx5rywk&#038;t=12s\"><span>video<\/span><\/a><span> on the U.N.\u2019s 2023 Water Conference website says that \u201cwater can be the driver for a green economy, water is essential for food security, water is fundamental to climate resilience, and water can be the dealmaker for peace.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The game continues,&#8221; Humanity&#8217;s demand for water is increasing.&#8221; &#8221; Abuse, waste, and climate change are putting more pressure on water sources.&#8221; To gain SDG6 by 2030, the world must perform 4 times faster on average.
