Dan Newhouse pressed the energy minister about a draft rule that was proposed in February that would abolish&#8221; 96 percent of tested home gas stove tops&#8221; during he was hearing on the budget for the 2024 financial year. According to Newhouse, the proposed policy would make gas heaters out of most Americans&#8217; price ranges.<\/p>\n<p>There is no prohibition against gas heaters. Granholm said,&#8221; I have a gas heater. It simply involves increasing the efficiency of the current electric and gas heaters as well as all other machines. Since it is a proposed act, all gas heaters are completely unaffected.<\/p>\n<p>Granholm continued, explaining that the stoves that would be impacted are&#8221; high-end&#8221; appliances that, according to her, constitute a&#8221; wasteful use of natural gas ,&#8221; and that&#8221; in fact, half of the currently on the market wouldn&#8217;t even be affected.&#8221;<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\"><span class=\"H8qiCYbEQ1ROSswjXZ6fWxkMJ3lAVGmhpaB2Tt0UFyNcd5zoeg9v4DKL\"><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">While defending a policy that would prevent the sale of at least half of all gas heaters on the U.S. market, Energy Minister Granholm, Jennifer acknowledged having one on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>via @ CandersonMOhttps: \/\/ t. co \/ gPv9xVSlHqpic. twitter.com \/ KEbJiRcGtG<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/FreeBeacon\/status\/1638975688106471437?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 23, 2023<\/a>, Washington Free Beacon(@ FreeBeacons ).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/span><\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>The remarks come in response to divisive remarks made by Richard Trumka Jr., a Consumer Product Safety Commission ( CPSC ) appointee who contemplated outright banning gas stoves and stated to Bloomberg in January that&#8221; any option is on the table.&#8221;<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-a1b33233338a7e4c588232d8909883e8 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-a1b33233338a7e4c588232d8909883e8\"><\/div>\n<p>Trumka said,&#8221; Products that didn&#8217;t become reliable can be banned.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The administration&#8217;s decision to return on the proposal and declare that no national ban was being considered as a result of social outrage.<\/p>\n<p>According to Commission Chairman Alex Hoehn-Saric,&#8221; I am truly looking to censor gas heaters, and the CPSC has no plans to do so.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>However, a note released by Fox News last month reveals that national regulators took their efforts to outlaw the gas appliance much more seriously than they initially appeared to after widespread outcry.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-32bd8d5f282285d936159a63229484ca fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-10\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-32bd8d5f282285d936159a63229484ca\"><\/div>\n<p>In the letter from October, Trumka stated that&#8221; the need for oil stove regulation has reached a boiling stage.&#8221; According to the Federal Hazardous Substances Act,&#8221; CPSC has the duty to outlaw consumer goods that emit toxic chemicals, especially when those pollution harm children.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The attempt to outlaw the oil appliance is based on left-wing myths that stoves are a major contributor to respiratory issues brought on by domestic emissions. However, these assertions have nothing to do with technology and are entirely the result of extreme weather advocacy and initiatives to get rid of fossil fuels.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Witness: Harsanyi: The Left Is Engaging In A Culture War With Range Oil Bans.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Such engagement has instantly made the administration&#8217;s priority, if any at all, to replenish the country &#8216; emergency petroleum reserves.<\/p>\n<p>After the mayor&#8217;s apparent attempt to take advantage of the resources for social capital by making an extraordinary drawdown, Granholm warned lawmakers on Thursday that it would take years to fill the emergency stockpile.<\/p>\n<p>The Department of Energy <a href=\"https:\/\/www.energy.gov\/sites\/prod\/files\/2016\/09\/f33\/Long-Term%20Strategic%20Review%20of%20the%20U.%20S.%20Strategic%20Petroleum%20Reserve%20Report%20to%20Congress_0.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported<\/a> that the reserve held more than 695 million barrels of crude oil in 2016, with the authority to maintain 714 million. The nation be resources are at their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eia.gov\/dnav\/pet\/hist\/LeafHandler.ashx?n=PET&#038;s=WCSSTUS1&#038;f=W\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">lowest levels<\/a> since 1983 after President Joe Biden ordered 260 million live to be tapped from the emergency stash despite no real crisis. The management carefully timed drawdowns with anticipated power price dips, according to information made public in a public records demand two months ago.<\/p>\n<p>Officials from Biden have stated that once oil returns to$ 70 per barrel, the administration will move forward with plans to replenish the reserves.
