They announced their split in June 2022 amid <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/entertainment\"><span>rumors<\/span><\/a><span> of Piqu\u00e9 cheating on Shakira. The athlete is currently dating Clara Chia Marti, the woman he was accused of cheating with.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cI keep doing what I want,\u201d Piqu\u00e9 told El Pais during an <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/elpais.com\/deportes\/2023-03-19\/gerard-pique-los-clubes-no-dejan-a-los-jugadores-salirse-de-la-raya.html\"><span>interview<\/span><\/a><span> via a translation. \u201cThe day I die, I will look back and hope I have always done what I wanted,\u201d he added. \u201cI want to be faithful to myself. I\u2019m not going to spend money cleaning up my image.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The people who know me are the things I love and care about, he continued. The rest doesn&#8217;t matter to me at all. I focus all of my power on giving to and being with my loved ones. I&#8217;m overjoyed. My life has changed, and I&#8217;ve learned how to maintain my love.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The father of two claimed that Milan, 10, and Sasha, 8, are his two most important children.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The 36-year-old football celebrity continued,&#8221; It is about protecting them.&#8221; &#8221; That is the responsibility of all families. That is what I am concentrating on, and being a dad is my work.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Piqu\u00e9 made similar <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/english.elpais.com\/culture\/2023-03-15\/gerard-pique-breaks-silence-on-shakiras-breakup-song-the-only-thing-that-matters-is-that-my-children-are-fine.html\"><span>statements<\/span><\/a><span> during a radio interview with a Spanish radio station on March 15: \u201cPeople have a responsibility, especially those of us who are parents, to try to protect our children.
