Ron DeSantis&#8217;s (R-FL) numbers are taking a hit.<\/p>\n<p>The latest Monmouth University poll shows that Trump now leads DeSantis by 14 percentage points, a reversal from previous polls conducted in February and December. In the Republican presidential primary survey with a wide field, Trump is at 41%, DeSantis at 27%, former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley at 3%, and all other candidates at 1% or less. 23% of respondents have not decided which candidate to support.<\/p>\n<p>While DeSantis and Trump are both still the front-runners, DeSantis&#8217;s support has been slipping since the start of 2023. Trump, on the other hand, has experienced a rise in his numbers after backing several high-profile candidates who lost in the 2022 midterm elections.<\/p>\n<p>In a head-to-head between DeSantis and Trump, DeSantis is now trailing behind Trump, with 46% supporting DeSantis and 47% for Trump. This is a stark contrast to February when DeSantis was leading Trump by ten points.<\/p>\n<p>DeSantis has yet to announce his intention to run for the White House, but there are strong indications that he will confirm a presidential run in late May or early June once the legislative session in Florida concludes.
