Jenna Ellis, who represented Trump&#8217;s 2020 campaign, called a possible indictment a &#8220;huge tipping point and turning point in America&#8221; and suggests that it might be a political tactic used to &#8220;drain [Trump&#8217;s] war chest\u201d. Tesla CEO Elon Musk had previously stated that, if Trump were to be arrested, it could help him win by a landslide. Republican members, such as Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) and former White House spokesman Hogan Gidley, also agree that Trump&#8217;s following will rally in support of him if he is falsely accused. Nevertheless, a conviction would be a lot harder, according to Texas GOP strategist Brendan Steinhauser. <\/p>\n<p>The probe by the Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg&#8217;s office involves a $130,000 hush money payment to adult actress Stormy Daniels. Despite an indictment being very likely, a conviction would be difficult due to the high standard required; specifically, that Donald Trump had &#8220;intended to commit a crime,&#8221; Steinhauser explained.<\/p>\n<p>Trump had urged his supporters to protest and &#8220;take our nation back&#8221; via social media, which received criticism for potential incitement of violence.
