Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), chairman of the\u00a0Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government, shared McCarthy&#8217;s statement on social media, as did the GOP House Judiciary Committee account.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Don&#8217;t worry, Liberal DA&#8217;s are working just as hard to indict actual criminals in Democrat-run cities. Just kidding. It&#8217;s all politics,&#8221; These were the last.<\/p>\n<p>Rep. Chip Roy (R.Texas), cited one Federalist Papers. It states: &#8220;This power over the purse may, in fact, be regarded as the most complete and effectual weapon with which any constitution can arm the immediate representatives of the people.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;How much federal funding does the Manhattan DA&#8217;s office get?&#8221; Roy asked.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_5132826\" style=\"width: 640px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\"><noscript><\/noscript> Alvin Bragg, Manhattan District Attorney in New York City on January 13, 2023. Santiago\/Getty Images)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2>Possible Indictment<\/h2>\n<p>Trump, a Republican is being indicted by the Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg (a Democrat).<\/p>\n<p>Bragg&#8217;s office confirmed receipt of questions on Saturday regarding possible indictment, but did not respond to them.<\/p>\n<p>Media reports say that indictment will come about a payment Stormy Danis made to her, who claims Trump had an affair with her. The payment was not properly classified.<\/p>\n<p>Trump claimed that the allegations were false. &#8220;fully debunked&#8221; Fox News spokeswoman said Trump is &#8220;completely innocent.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>McCarthy, as speaker, leads the Republicans in Congress. After winning more votes than Democrats from key districts across multiple states, including New York, the GOP won control of the lower chamber during the 2022 midterms.<\/p>\n<p>New York City remains, however, under tight Democrat control.<\/p>\n<p>Rep. Daniel Goldman (D-N.Y.), who served as the top lawyer in the second effort to impeach Trump, in 2022\u2014Trump was acquitted by the Senate\u2014criticized McCarthy&#8217;s remarks.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Speaker of the House of Representatives who has no idea what evidence the state DA has in support of grand jury indictment seeks to \u2018weaponize&#8217; the federal government to undermine the rule of law for political purposes,&#8221; Goldman stated this in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;No one is above the law,&#8221; Rep. Adriano Espaillat (D-N.Y.) added.<\/p>\n<p>The announcement was supported by Republicans however.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Speaker McCarthy proves again that through his leadership House GOP will not tolerate the Democrat&#8217;s weaponization of government and political persecution in the taxpayer&#8217;s dime,&#8221; Rep.
