Although it is not known when these charges will be filed, prosecutors indicate that an indictment may be forthcoming. <\/p>\n<p><b>TRUMP STAINS HE EXPECTS TO GET ARRESTED NEXT WEEK IN THE STORMY-DANIELS INVESTIGATION<\/b> <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Here we go again \u2014 an outrageous abuse of power by a radical DA who lets violent criminals walk as he pursues political vengeance against President Trump,&#8221; McCarthy stated this in a Saturday tweet. &#8220;I&#8217;m directing relevant committees to immediately investigate if federal funds are being used to subvert our democracy by interfering in elections with politically motivated prosecutions.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>McCarthy didn&#8217;t specify which committees McCarthy would ask to investigate the matter. The investigation would be conducted in conjunction with several other inquiries into the so called &#8220;weaponization&#8221; a number of government agencies conservatives believe are used against them. <\/p>\n<p>This statement was made by the speaker just hours after Trump posted to his Truth Social account, stating that he expected to be arrested. &#8220;Tuesday of next week&#8221; He also urged his followers to protest. &#8220;take our nation back.&#8221; In a subsequent statement, a spokesperson for Trump clarified his position by noting that Trump did not know the exact timing of an arrest. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;President Trump is rightfully highlighting his innocence and the weaponization of our injustice system,&#8221; The statement was as follows: <\/p>\n<p>After former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen testified before a Manhattan grand jury several times last week, reports of an imminent indictment surfaced. Daniels, who is actually Stephanie Clifford met with prosecutors Wednesday. <\/p>\n<p>Cohen was previously sentenced in 2018 for pleading guilty to the payment of two women, including Daniels, who had accused Trump of having sexual affairs. This crime is considered a misdemeanor by New York, but it could be made a felony by Bragg&#8217;s office if the fraud was meant to cover up another crime. <\/p>\n<p>Federal prosecutors didn&#8217;t press charges against Trump at Cohen&#8217;s trial due to the Justice Department&#8217;s guidance that a sitting president can not be charged with any crime.
