Also known as the &#8220;Theatrical Bill Essayli&#8221; &#8220;Gender identity: parental notification&#8221; The bill would require school districts to notify parents within three working days if their children have sex not shown on their official records.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Parents play a critical role in nurturing and supporting children and they cannot be removed from the equation,&#8221; The Los Angeles Times reported that Essayli stated this during a Monday news conference.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Concealing information from parents is not only wrong \u2014 it&#8217;s dangerous and harmful to the emotional and physical safety of trans minors,&#8221; ABC7 reports that Essayli has been added.<\/p>\n<p>Essayli and Jessica Tapia, a former teacher at Jurupa Valley High School, held a press conference. Jessica Tapia was fired for refusing to comply with the state law which prohibits educators from discussing children&#8217;s gender without student consent.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I said, \u2018Are you asking me to lie?&#8217; And they said, \u2018Yes. It&#8217;s the law, and it&#8217;s for the student&#8217;s privacy,'&#8221; Tapia stated. &#8220;I can&#8217;t understand how the school system seems to think that we ought to act as though we are the parent.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>California Department of Education says that the current law protects trans students as disclosing their gender identity could increase their chances of being identified by their parents. &#8220;vulnerability to harassment and may violate the student&#8217;s right to privacy.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are talking about minors,&#8221; Tapia stated. &#8220;Their brain is not fully developed. The decision-making portal in that brain is not fully developed, and they need their parents at this time for everything.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><b data-stringify-type=\"bold\">CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILY WIRE APP<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Everything they&#8217;re going through \u2014 mentally, emotionally, physically, spiritually \u2014 you name it,&#8221; She continued.<\/p>\n<p>Tapia stated that she will sue the school district for wrongful termination.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement, Jurupa Unified Schools District officials stated that they had told ABC7 that &#8220;all students and staff enjoy the right to privacy under the Constitutions of the United States and California.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;While individuals may elect to disclose their personal information to the public, the District is prohibited from doing so,&#8221; According to the statement. &#8220;The District&#8217;s actions related to Ms. Tapia were based on its obligations under current state and federal law, which protects student privacy and requires the District to provide a discrimination-free learning environment to students.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Assemblymember Essayli said that if the new law passes, it will reset an appropriate relationship between educators and parents \u2014 reaffirming children belong to their parents and not the government.<\/p>\n<p>The Los Angeles Times reported that officials from California Legislative LGBTQ Caucus issued a statement saying the new bill would allow transgender and other-binary students to enroll in the state&#8217;s new legislation. &#8220;potentially life threatening danger, subjecting them to trauma and violence.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Teachers should not be forced into the inappropriate position of revealing a student&#8217;s personal information about their gender identity with anyone,&#8221; The statement is as follows:<\/p>\n<p>Peggy Bigby Lamberth from California argued that parents should have input into their children&#8217;s decisions.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Parents should absolutely be involved in all the decisions that their kids make,&#8221; Lamberth spoke to ABC7. &#8220;Right now, kids are influenced by the media, by their friends, by just a lot of mixed messages.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Another California school district was under fire last January when The Center for American Liberty filed suit against Chico Unified school District superintendent and school board for allegedly transferring a female child. &#8220;behind her mother&#8217;s back.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<hr>\n<p>&#8220;From <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/ca-lawmakers-seek-to-reverse-law-that-prohibits-teachers-from-disclosing-student-gender-identities-transitions-with-parents\">California Lawmakers Want to Reverse the Law that Prohibits Teachers from Disclosing Students Gender Identities, Transitions with Parents<\/a>&#8220;<\/p>\n<hr>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:11px\"><em>&#8220;The views and opinions expressed here are solely those of the author of the article and not necessarily shared or endorsed by Conservative News Daily&#8221;<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>California Republican lawmakers introduced a bill that would require school districts to alert parents if their child is trans-identifying or \u201cnon-binary\u201d after a state high school fired one of its teachers for violating a state anti-discrimination law that prohibits such interactions.
