Peggy Flanagan recently extolled radical gender ideology in front of a crowd, declaring, &#8220;When our children tell us who they are, it is our job as grown-ups to listen and to believe them. That&#8217;s what it means to be a good parent.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>She spoke out in defense of an executive Order signed by Democratic Governor Tim Walz. It legally protected things like hormone therapies, puberty blockers and other minor-related matters.<\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s not address radical gender ideology directly but use a comparison to illustrate how stupid that is.<\/p>\n<p>Your toddler might come to you and say they are a bird. You could encourage them to imagine other birds. If your 2-year old was about to leap from the roof believing he could fly, then you would not allow it. If you actually believed your child was a bird, then your son would get seriously hurt or worse \u2014 not unlike the sex-change surgeries Flanagan touts.<\/p>\n<p>This is also terrible advice for any other aspect of your life that are not related to gender dysmorphia.<\/p>\n<p>If your son came to tell you, &#8220;Mom, I&#8217;m a failure,&#8221; You wouldn&#8217;t tell, &#8220;That&#8217;s right, son!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>A &#8220;good parent&#8221; They wouldn&#8217;t affirm the child&#8217;s claim that they are a failure. They would probably encourage their child not to say that they are a failure, but instead encourage them to try and fail again until they succeed. They don&#8217;t have to be defined by their mistakes, but their ability to persevere through them.<\/p>\n<p><b data-stringify-type=\"bold\">CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILY WIRE APP<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Or, if your girl said so, &#8220;I&#8217;m never going to get an A on this test,&#8221; A good parent would not allow their child to dwell on self-pity. They&#8217;d likely tell their daughter. &#8220;Not with that attitude you won&#8217;t,&#8221; Help your child learn.<\/p>\n<p>What is the best parenting? &#8220;believe&#8221; them?<\/p>\n<p>It is not more prudent to say it. &#8220;Well, son, some boys like to play with dolls, and that&#8217;s okay; It doesn&#8217;t make you a girl. And some girls like to play sports, but that doesn&#8217;t make you a boy.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Flanagan, a leftist, encourages parents to let go of their duty to guide their children through their lives.<\/p>\n<p>Matt Walsh, Daily Wire host, put it this way: &#8220;No it is not our job as grownups to simply believe whatever our children say.
