Biden has not and it\u2019s day 42.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Republican researcher Zach Parkinson tweeted out a graph showing the length of time that it took all presidents dating back to Herbert Hoover to hold their first solo press conference. Biden was by far the longest.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Biden is setting the modern record for not holding a press conference, and it&#8217;s not even close. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/KU4eEyZkHG\">https:\/\/t.co\/KU4eEyZkHG<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/arBgxDRIE8\">pic.twitter.com\/arBgxDRIE8<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Zach Parkinson (@AZachParkinson) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AZachParkinson\/status\/1367171678036451333?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 3, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel also called out Biden for the lack of transparency.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s been 42 days and Joe Biden still refuses to hold a press conference,\u201d McDaniel <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GOPChairwoman\/status\/1367166845820821512\">said<\/a>. \u201cWhy is he so afraid of answering questions?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) questioned whether there was something going on that was stopping Biden from being transparent with the American people, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RepAndyBiggsAZ\/status\/1367172029816922115\">tweeting<\/a>: \u201cWhy is Joe Biden hiding from the American people?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RNCResearch\/status\/1366463664233062402\">said<\/a> this week that the administration has still not made any plans for Biden to hold a solo press conference.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe closest Biden has come to holding a conference was a brief interview with Univision on Feb. 25, in which he answered questions alongside First Lady Dr. Jill Biden,\u201d The Daily Caller <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/03\/03\/president-joe-biden-press-conference-solo\/\">reported<\/a> this week. \u201cThe first lady frequently assisted Biden in answering policy questions throughout the interview, offering qualifiers to the president\u2019s answers on teacher vaccinations and immigration policy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe reluctance to hold a presser recalls the time last summer and early fall when then-candidate Biden largely holed up in his Wilmington, Del., home while the coronavirus and the presidential campaign were churning,\u201d the New York Post <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2021\/03\/02\/biden-41-days-into-term-still-hasnt-held-press-conference\/\">reported<\/a>. \u201cBiden set up a studio in his home and took part in media interviews and talks with supporters and voters via virtual meetings from his basement, tightly controlling which reporters got to ask a question, if at all.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Republican Party Communications Director Michael Ahrens highlighted a clip where Biden made controversial comments about the unfolding crisis on the border.<\/p>\n<p>When a reporter asked Biden if there was a crisis on the border, Biden responded \u201cno.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ahrens commented: \u201cNo wonder they haven\u2019t let him do a press conference.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Obama-era DHS Secretary Jeh Johnson <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realclearpolitics.com\/video\/2019\/03\/29\/obama_dhs_secretary_jeh_johnson_we_are_truly_in_a_crisis_on_southern_border.html\">said<\/a> a couple of years ago that a day with 1,000 apprehensions at the U.S.-Mexico border was \u201ca relatively bad number\u201d and that \u201ca thousand overwhelms the system.\u201d Border experts have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/border-patrol-deploying-hundred-agents-northern-border-coast-southern-border\">said<\/a> that currently under Biden, there are days where over 4,000 illegal aliens have been apprehended in a single day on the border.
