Rick Scott, R-FL, sent the letter Wednesday. It included a list of questions about Garland&#8217;s plans and actions after the Department of Energy was closed. &#8220;low confidence&#8221; COVID-19 was discovered in a laboratory leak at China&#8217;s Wuhan Institute of Virology. These findings were detailed by the DOE in a report earlier this month. This prompted a commotion among conservatives who had voiced similar theories in the early days of the pandemic. <\/p>\n<p><b><a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/house\/house-passes-bill-demanding-declassification-covid-origins\">UNANIMOUSLY VOTES TO FORCE BIDENSPY CHIEF to DECLASSIFY INTELLIGENCE ABOUT THE COVID-19 ORIGINS<\/a><\/b> <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;More than 1.1 million Americans have died due to COVID-19 in the past three years, and untold millions more have suffered, and continue to suffer, physical and economic harms related to the pandemic,&#8221; In the letter received by The, the Republican lawmakers wrote <i>Washington Examiner<\/i>. &#8220;Rather than use your position to pursue the politics and partisan policies of the far-left, we suggest you fulfill your duty as the chief law enforcement officer of the Federal Government to advance the interests of the United States and hold accountable the Chinese Communist Party and international organizations responsible for their role in the COVID-19 pandemic.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>It is not clear exactly what Garland would do against the Chinese government, or if there would be legal restrictions to such actions. Senators asked that Garland be removed. &#8220;specifically identify&#8221; Barriers so Congress could consider ways to get around them. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We wholeheartedly welcome the opportunity to draft appropriate legislation to remove those barriers to pursuing justice for the millions of Americans harmed by the misconduct of the Chinese Communist Party,&#8221; They wrote. <\/p>\n<p>The letter arrives as legislators on both sides of this aisle are pushing for answers to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Senate <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/senate\/hawley-laughs-off-chinese-letter-halt-coronavirus-origins-bill\">Unanimously passed a bill<\/a> That would require the director of National Intelligence to release all information about COVID-19&#8217;s origins, and any possible links to the Wuhan Institute of Virology, last week. <\/p>\n<p>This legislation is a significant departure from the days before the pandemic. In those early days, the lab leak hypothesis was considered a conspiracy theory. The nation&#8217;s 18 intelligence agencies claim both theories are plausible. Yet, the debate continues between scientists and the intelligence community. <\/p>\n<p>House Select Subcommittee members on the Coronavirus Pandemic also opened an inquiry and held their first hearing in March 8.
