She ran a failed campaign for Baltimore mayor in 2020.<\/p>\n<p>Miller was faced with calls to quit the race after a support political action committee sent an email saying it was &#8220;&#8230;&#8221;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wbaltv.com\/article\/baltimore-mayors-race-political-action-committee-mary-miller\/32480011#\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Targeting white voters<\/a>&#8220;in a bid to draw support away from other candidates. Miller claimed that her campaign was not aware of the email but she still apologized to Baltimoreans.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2023\/03\/10\/silicon-valley-bank-financial-in-talks-to-sell-itself-after-attempts-to-raise-capital-have-failed-sources-say.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CNBC reported<\/a> SVB collapsed on Friday, after it failed in its efforts to raise $2.3 billion to pay customer withdrawals. The Securities and Exchange Commission and the Department of Justice <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/doj-sec-launch-probes-into-silicon-valley-bank-collapse-report?utm_source=partner&#038;utm_campaign=conservnewsd\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">According to reports, they opened investigations<\/a> It would also include an investigation into the share sales of executives before U.S. regulators shut off the bank&#8217;s floundering branch and took over its deposits.<\/p>\n<p>SVB CEO Greg Becker, who is listed on the board of directors, sold millions of dollars in stock just days before the company&#8217;s failure and\u00a0CFO Daniel Beck sold about one-third of his holdings for about $575,000, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/justice-department-sec-investigating-silicon-valley-banks-collapse-c192c2b2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">According to The Wall Street Journal<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Others <a href=\"https:\/\/www.svb.com\/leadership\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">As members of the SVB board<\/a> include Chairwoman\u00a0Kay Matthews;\u00a0Thomas King, former CEO of investment banking at Barclays; Coursera CEO Jeffrey Maggioncalda; Richard Daniels, former executive vice president and chief information officer at Kaiser Permanente; and Eric Benhamou, chairman and CEO of Benhamou Global Ventures.<\/p>\n<p>One of those who took shots at the SVB board is &#8220;Shark Tank&#8221; star Kevin O&#8217;Leary.
