This deal is the first time that the U.S. has shared nuclear submarine technology since 1959, Fox News reports. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/world\/china-issues-ominous-threat-biden-australia-nuclear-submarine-deal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span>reported<\/span><\/a><span>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>&#8220;Our unprecedented trilateral cooperation \u2026 is testament to the strength of the longstanding ties that unite us and to our shared commitment of ensuring the Indo-Pacific remains free and open, prosperous and secure, defined by opportunity for all \u2014 a shared commitment to create a future rooted in our common values,&#8221; Biden <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/speeches-remarks\/2023\/03\/13\/remarks-by-president-biden-prime-minister-albanese-of-australia-and-prime-minister-sunak-of-the-united-kingdom-on-the-aukus-partnership\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span><\/span><\/a><span>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The president clarified that submarines heading to Australia would be going as planned. &#8220;nuclear-powered, not nuclear-armed.&#8221; China, however, attacked the three countries and claimed that the agreement could be in breach of the 1970 Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>&#8220;The latest joint statement issued by the U.S., U.K., and Australia shows that the three countries have gone further down the wrong and dangerous path for their own geopolitical self-interest, completely ignoring the concerns of the international community,&#8221; China spokesperson Wang Wenbin spoke Tuesday\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>In the agreement, the United States and the United Kingdom will send subs from the United Kingdom to Australian ports to allow Australian sailors to get American and British nuclear propulsion technology. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2023\/03\/13\/aukus-nuke-submarine-deal-00086835#:~:text=The%20U.S.%20is%20preparing%20to,Monday%20alongside%20his%20allied%20counterparts.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span>According<\/span><\/a><span> POLITICO. Australian sailors have now learned how to use the technology. The country will purchase three submarines with nuclear engines from the U.S., with the possibility of purchasing two additional.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Australia&#8217;s submarines will significantly improve its naval capabilities as Beijing, its rival, threatens expansion and influence in Australia. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/u-s-plans-to-drastically-increase-troop-numbers-in-taiwan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span>Taiwan<\/span><\/a><span>  <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/2017-2021.state.gov\/chinas-military-aggression-in-the-indo-pacific-region\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span>Above and Beyond<\/span><\/a><span>.
