Hilton claims her parents responded to her rebellion by sending her off to troubled teenage centers that were recommended by professionals. She was actually physically and sexually abused at these facilities.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It was pure torture every single day, Hilton said on\u00a0<i>The View. &#8220;<\/i>It was only by thinking about who and what I wanted, that I got through it.<\/p>\n<div class=\"Enhancement\">\n<div class=\"Enhancement-item\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/embed.air.tv\/v1\/iframe\/feh5KdLjR3iPHLubDXphUg?organization=MoTlAWfQQXyEPg6AYxEZSw\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Hilton has been calling for the closure of these facilities since then and has\u00a0<a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/paris-hilton-visits-white-house-to-advocate-against-institutional-child-abuse\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Efforts to amend laws<\/a>\u00a0in eight states.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I have an important mission in my life right now.&#8221; Hilton said about why she wrote this book<i>.\u00a0<\/i>&#8220;Maybe God sent me through this so that one day, I could be the hero I had always longed for as a little girl.<\/p>\n<p>Hilton, who was a mother to her son Phoenix in January\u00a0<a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.brides.com\/paris-hilton-fiance-carter-reum-5113060\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Carter Reum husband<\/a>, stated that she did not tell her family about the baby until later.<i>\u00a0<\/i>He was born.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;My entire life has been made public and I wanted it for myself. I didn&#8217;t want my unborn child to be viewed negatively by the media or other people.
