The Treasury Department now provides an explanation. &#8220;in camera&#8221; After reviewing the suspicious activity reports, Comer indicated that plans for an interview were postponed.<\/p>\n<p>The Daily Wire reached out for comments to the Treasury Department.<\/p>\n<p>The White House has presented Republican probes into Hunter and the Biden families, including Hunter&#8217;s sales of art, as steeped in politics. &#8220;Instead of working with President Biden to address issues important to the American people, like lower costs, congressional Republicans&#8217; top priority is to go after President Biden with politically motivated attacks chock-full of long-debunked conspiracy theories,&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/world-us-canada-63665351\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ian Sams, White House spokesperson<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The probes by Republicans into the Biden family are being opposed by Democrats in Congress. They include Hunter Biden&#8217;s son and brothers, as well as his financial transactions.<\/p>\n<p>Rep. Jamie Raskin (D.MD), the top ranking member of House Oversight Committee sent Comer a letter over the weekend <a href=\"https:\/\/oversightdemocrats.house.gov\/sites\/democrats.oversight.house.gov\/files\/FINAL%202023.03.12.%20JBR%20to%20Comer%20re%20Mazars%20BofA%20Subpoena.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">raising concerns<\/a> The subpoena that the chairman issued to Bank of America to obtain 14 years of records about Hunter Biden&#8217;s associates was intended to give former President Donald Trump an advantage in any 2024 election rematch.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I fear this wildly overbroad subpoena suggests that your interest in this investigation is not in pursuing defined facts or informing public legislation but conducting a dragnet of political opposition research on behalf of former President Trump,&#8221; Raskin wrote.<\/p>\n<p>Comer said this week that he had defended his subpoena and that John was not in his committee&#8217;s hands. &#8220;Rob&#8221; Walker was identified as a business associate for Hunter Biden in a venture that he co-founded with CEFC China Energy executives. This happened two months after Joe Biden resigned from his position as vice president.<\/p>\n<p>Walker&#8217;s account immediately began to transfer money into three Biden family accounts within one day. &#8220;new&#8221; Comer, a GOP member who hasn&#8217;t yet been part in the GOP investigations, said during an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=EScaBsWMJz4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Interview on Fox News<\/a> Tuesday.
