Ramsey plays a 14 year-old girl in season 1, which is based off a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/video-games\"><span>Video game<\/span><\/a><span> The second part, which has the same name, leaps forward five years. There was speculation that Ellie could have her role recast to better reflect her age.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Craig Mazin, Neil Druckmann and the showrunners addressed the rumors at a virtual press conference that took place before the start of the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/entertainment\"><span>Season finale<\/span><\/a><span> Sunday &#8220;Let&#8217;s put this thing to rest,&#8221; Druckmann commented on the rampant rumors.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>&#8220;One of the things about the casting process that&#8217;s tough is that we invite people to join us on this process, and we know everything [about the secrets of the production] and nobody else knows anything except what they know, which is the game,&#8221; Mazin said, per <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/ew.com\/tv\/the-last-of-us-season-2-bella-ramsey-time-jump\/\"><span>Entertainment Weekly<\/span><\/a><span>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>He continued, &#8220;We know what we&#8217;re gonna do in terms of costume and makeup and hair, but more importantly, we also know the spirit and soul of the actor.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Mazin then went on to discuss the topic of how &#8220;The Last of Us&#8221; Initial anger among fans was that Ramsey was not the same look as Ellie in gameplay. This was later resolved by the series&#8217; co-creator.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>&#8220;I&#8217;m like, \u2018It doesn&#8217;t matter. Watch! Just watch what happens.&#8217; And now they know,&#8221; He said. &#8220;I think there is still this constant drumbeat of anxiety. All I can say to people is, I have so much anxiety myself about doing a good job on this. Just know I am also very anxious. If you&#8217;re anxious about something, I&#8217;m probably anxious about it, which means we&#8217;re talking about it and thinking about it.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>This series has been praised and criticised for its deviation from the original storyline. The majority of these games are rated &#8220;A&#8221; by the public. &#8220;The Last of Us&#8221; Follow the original content closely. There are many shots-for-shot copies. Certain elements have been altered or embellished. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Episode 3: Frank and Bill&#8217;s love story &#8220;Long, Long, Time,&#8221; One example is how the showrunners add to the story to flesh out the characters. It was criticized by many game fans as unnecessary filler. Others said it added depth to the series.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>During the press conference, Mazin stated that &#8220;The Last of Us&#8221; Season 2 would be completely different from Part II.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>&#8220;It will be different just as this season was different [from the first game],&#8221; He noted. &#8220;Sometimes it will be different radically, and sometimes it will be [barely] different at all. But it&#8217;s going to be different and it will be its own thing. It won&#8217;t be exactly like the game. It will be the show that Neil and I want to make. But we are making it with Bella.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>&#8220;The only way we would ever, ever consider re-casting Bella is if she said, \u2018I don&#8217;t want to work with you guys anymore,'&#8221; Druckmann agreed. &#8220;And even then, we&#8217;re not sure we would grant her that.
