President Joe Biden has an insatiable penchant for telling obvious lies at the strangest times.<\/p>\n<p>The latest example of this is Biden&#8217;s claim that he had a great awakening on gay marriage \u2014 while a senior in high school \u2014 way back around 1960 \u2013 1961. Biden&#8217;s voting record, as well as his personal statements, prove that this cannot be true.<\/p>\n<p>Kal Penn, an interviewer, asked the president a simple question: &#8220;My question for you, Mr. President, is you codified support for same-sex marriages \u2026 I&#8217;m curious what your evolution was like on marriage equality, and what the federal government might be able to do to protect LGBTQ Americans, especially trans kids who are dealing with all these regressive state laws that are popping up right now?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Biden was a supporter of the Defense of Marriage Act, in the 1990s. He maintained that marriage is between one man (and one woman) until 2012 &#8220;.<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2022\/12\/13\/politics\/white-house-same-sex-marriage-signing-ceremony\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Meet the Press<\/a>Interview that was at the time shocking.<\/p>\n<p>But here&#8217;s what Biden had to say this week: &#8220;I can remember <strong><em>exactly<\/em><\/strong> when my epiphany was,&#8221; Penn laughed when Biden said it.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I hadn&#8217;t thought much about it, to tell you the truth,&#8221; He said so. &#8220;I was a senior in high school, and my dad was dropping me off. I remember I was about to get out of the car, and I look to my right, two well-dressed men in suits kissed each other. They gave each other a kiss.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;And I&#8217;ll never forget it, I looked at my dad, and he said, \u2018Joey, it&#8217;s simple. They love each other. It&#8217;s simple,&#8217; \u2014 now I&#8217;m not joking \u2026&#8221; He stated, which is often the case. &#8220;tell&#8221; To put it mildly, Biden is simply pulling stuff from his keister.<\/p>\n<p>He continued, &#8220;And it&#8217;s never been, it&#8217;s never been \u2026 It&#8217;s just that simple,&#8221; He elaborated. &#8220;It doesn&#8217;t matter whether it&#8217;s same-sex or a heterosexual couple. They should be married. What is the problem?&#8221;<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Biden: &#8220;I can remember exactly when my epiphany [on supporting gay marriage] was \u2026 I was a senior in high school. Penn would have called Biden if it was a real interview.<\/p>\n<p>Biden gave a different answer to the question in 2006, as an example.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We already have a law, the Defense of Marriage Act,&#8221; He stated that &#8220;Meet The Press&#8221; As a potential amendment to the Constitution, protecting the sacredness of marriage was being discussed.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;ve all voted \u2026 or I&#8217;ve voted, and I&#8217;ve said look, \u2018Marriage is between a man and a woman and states must respect that.&#8217; Nobody&#8217;s violated that law,&#8221; He concluded. This law has not been challenged. Why would we need to amend the constitution? Marriage is between a man or a woman.
