Andrew Cuomo (D-NY) is facing multiple allegations of sexual harassment.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Last week, Lindsey Boylan \u2014 a former aide to the governor \u2014<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/medium.com\/@lindseyboylan4NY\/my-story-of-working-with-governor-cuomo-e664d4814b4e\"><span>detailed<\/span><\/a> <span>the environment of harassment that Cuomo allegedly fostered in the state government. Days later, Charlotte Bennett \u2014 a former executive assistant and health policy adviser \u2014<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2021\/02\/27\/nyregion\/cuomo-charlotte-bennett-sexual-harassment.html\"><span>laid out<\/span><\/a> <span>similar claims. Anna Ruch \u2014 a former staffer of the Obama campaign \u2014 told the<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2021\/03\/01\/nyregion\/cuomo-harassment-anna-ruch.html\"><span>New York Times<\/span><\/a> <span>that Cuomo had asked to kiss her at a 2019 wedding.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"und\" dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/rbs903i0v3\">https:\/\/t.co\/rbs903i0v3<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/PtOpRO6cDz\">pic.twitter.com\/PtOpRO6cDz<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Eoin Higgins (@EoinHiggins_) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/EoinHiggins_\/status\/1366551092520181764?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 2, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span>In the aftermath of the allegations, with New York reeling after his decision to send seniors recovering from COVID-19 back into nursing homes, leading New York Democrats are<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/new-york-state-legislators-to-strip-democrat-governor-andrew-cuomo-of-emergency-powers-amid-scandals\"><span>working<\/span><\/a> <span>to strip Gov. Cuomo of his emergency powers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>In the past, Gov. Cuomo has frequently and harshly condemned sexual assault and harassment on numerous occasions. As the validity of his former aides\u2019 allegations is determined, citizens of New York and members of the American public will be able to determine whether Cuomo holds himself to his own high standards.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Brett Kavanaugh<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span>During the confirmation process of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, former acquaintances claimed that he had committed sexual assault in decades past. Governor Cuomo commented extensively on the situation as it unfolded in the United States Senate.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cThe allegations of sexual assault against Judge Kavanaugh are disturbing and deeply concerning,\u201d wrote Cuomo in September 2018. \u201cI call on the Senate to postpone any vote until the allegations are fully investigated. Our democracy demands nothing less.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cThis is not just about a Supreme Court appointment, it\u2019s about justice in the deepest sense,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NYGovCuomo\/status\/1041763863585345536\">said<\/a> an accompanying statement. \u201cAmericans deserve the facts.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Cuomo, who described Dr. Christine Blasey Ford\u2019s testimony as \u201cvery compelling,\u201d also asked that President Trump demand Kavanaugh take a polygraph test.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Here is one basic fact that badly hurts Judge Kavanaugh: Why won&#8217;t he take a polygraph? Cuomo issued a statement affirming the importance of pursuing justice in cases of sexual harassment.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The recent revelations about sexual assault and harassment pervasive in our society are most disturbing. Cuomo worked to advance legislation designed to prevent sexual assault on college campuses.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cOne of my top priorities is ending sexual assault on college campuses,\u201d he tweeted in 2015. \u201cRape is rape and we need to protect our students.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">One of my top priorities is ending sexual assault on college campuses.
