It is concerning, especially since it involves dangerous pathogens and risky research,&#8221; Former federal investigator Diane Cutler examined over 50,000 documents, including grants from the U.S. Government for high-risk research in China.<\/p>\n<p>Sen. Roger Marshall (R.Kansas), who hired Cutler as an investigator, would like to create a 9\/11-type commission to determine what really happened. &#8220;I think there&#8217;s 1.1 million reasons that American taxpayers should care,&#8221; He said. &#8220;You&#8217;ll have a plane [crash]. We want to find out why the plane crashes. We go to any lengths to do that. And the hope is we don&#8217;t have another plane crash for the same reason.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Robert Redfield was the former director at the CDC. He testified that the NIH funded high-risk viruses in Wuhan.<\/p>\n<p>Redfiled was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailysignal.com\/2023\/03\/08\/6-takeaways-as-house-covid-19-panel-investigates-china-lab-leak\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Frequently Asked Questions<\/a> Rep. Nicole Malliotakis, R-NY, about Dr. Anthony Fauci&#8217;s testimony in 2021 that no U.S. funding was available for gain-of function research. Gain-of-function refers to a process in which a disease is exacerbated in order to study the response.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Do you think that Dr. Fauci intentionally lied under oath to Sen. Paul when he vehemently denied NIH&#8217;s funding of gain-of-function research?&#8221; Malliotakis enquired<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0&#8220;I think there is no doubt NIH was funding gain-of-function research,&#8221; Redfield responded.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0&#8220;Is it likely American tax dollars funded the gain-of-function research that created this virus?&#8221; Malliotakis was a question.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I think it did, not only from the NIH but the State Department, from USAID, and from DOD,&#8221; Redfield responded.<\/p>\n<p>In January,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/oig.hhs.gov\/oas\/reports\/region5\/52100025.asp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Report<\/a>\u00a0The following was stated by the Office of Inspector General (OIG), Department of Health and Human Services. &#8220;NIH did not effectively monitor or take timely action to address&#8221; Compliance problems involving EcoHealth Alliance. The NIH granted a grant to EcoHealth Alliance and some of the funds were sent to Wuhan Institute of Virology.<\/p>\n<p>EcoHealth Alliance received nearly $600,000. The funds were then transferred to WIV.
