But Carlson said nothing of the sort. (That\u2019s how former Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkin <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realclearpolitics.com\/video\/2020\/06\/12\/seattle_mayor_durkan_chaz_has_a_block_party_atmosphere_could_turn_into_summer_of_love.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">described <\/a>the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/world-us-canada-53224445\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">deadly <\/a>anarchy that gripped her city in the summer of 2020.)<\/p>\n<figure>\n<p><span><\/p>\n<blockquote data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">This is how it&#8217;s been for much of the day. CNN and MSNBC simultaneously talking about Fox News. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/SQVMmSRtOJ\">pic.twitter.com\/SQVMmSRtOJ<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Curtis Houck (@CurtisHouck) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CurtisHouck\/status\/1633609769159204870?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 8, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><\/span> <\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Last Monday and Tuesday night, Carlson\u2019s program aired new surveillance footage of the U.S. Capitol from the Jan. 6 riot that undermined the left\u2019s narrative of a \u201cdeadly insurrection.\u201d  Contrary to critics\u2019 claims that Carlson entirely glossed over the riot, he showed viewers graphic scenes of the turmoil that legacy outlets and Democrats on the Jan. 6 Committee had endlessly played for Americans.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese are the pictures you\u2019ve seen of Jan. 6,\u201d Carlson said. \u201cBut it turns out there\u2019s quite a bit of video you haven\u2019t seen. And that video tells a very different story about what happened on Jan. 6.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure><\/figure>\n<p>Carlson\u2019s team reviewed more than 40,000 hours of security footage kept under seal by the Democrats\u2019 House majority. The network was given access to the Capitol surveillance tapes by new Republican House Speaker Kevin McCarthy. Last week, Carlson published the findings.<\/p>\n<h2>\u2018QAnon Shaman\u2019 Was VIP Guest of Capitol Police<\/h2>\n<p>Footage from the Jan. 6 surveillance tapes show that Jacob Chansley, the \u201cQAnon Shaman\u201d who quickly became the face of the pro-Trump \u201cinsurrection,\u201d was escorted around the complex by Capitol Police. Officers are seen guiding Chansley to multiple entrances and even appear to check for unlocked doors.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey helped him. They acted as his tour guides,\u201d said Carlson. \u201cWe counted at least nine officers who were within touching distance of unarmed Jacob Chansley. Not one of them tried to slow him down.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure><\/figure>\n<p>In the fall of 2021, Chansley was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2021\/11\/17\/politics\/jacob-chansley-qanon-shaman-january-6-sentencing\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">sentenced <\/a>to 41 months in prison.<\/p>\n<p><strong>[READ: <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/03\/06\/newly-released-j6-tapes-show-capitol-police-giving-guided-tour-to-so-called-qanon-shaman\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Newly Released J6 Tapes Show Capitol Police Giving Guided Tour To So-Called \u2018Q-Anon Shaman\u2019<\/a>]<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Brian Sicknick Walked Around \u2018Vigorously\u2019 After He Was Allegedly Murdered<\/h2>\n<p>Fox News also aired footage of since-deceased Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick walking around the complex after altercations with demonstrators that supposedly killed him. <\/p>\n<p>Democrats and the legacy press exploited Sicknick\u2019s death on Jan. 7, 2021, claiming it was a direct consequence of clashes with demonstrators. First, The New York Times claimed Sicknick\u2019s death was due to a blunt-force injury from a fire extinguisher. After the paper issued a quiet correction, CNN\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2021\/02\/02\/politics\/brian-sicknick-charges\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">linked<\/a>\u00a0Sicknick\u2019s death to a chemical irritant, such as pepper spray or bear spray from the crowd. The D.C. medical examiner\u2019s office <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uscp.gov\/media-center\/press-releases\/medical-examiner-finds-uscp-officer-brian-sicknick-died-natural-causes\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">concluded <\/a>in a report published a month later\u00a0that Sicknick had died of natural causes. House Democrats, however, continued to use the officer\u2019s death as justification to label the riot \u201cdeadly\u201d for Capitol Police.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo this day, media accounts describe Sicknick as someone who was \u2018slain\u2019 on Jan. 6,\u201d Carlson said. \u201cThe video we reviewed proves that was a lie. \u2026 By all appearances, Brian Sicknick is healthy and vigorous. He\u2019s wearing a helmet, so it\u2019s hard to imagine he was killed by a head injury.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure><\/figure>\n<p><strong>[READ: <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/03\/06\/new-j6-tapes-show-brian-sicknick-walking-around-after-dems-claimed-he-was-murdered\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">New J6 Tapes Show Brian Sicknick Walking Around After Dems Claimed He Was Murdered<\/a>]<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Even after the publication of the J6 tapes, the White House <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/03\/08\/biden-white-house-repeats-debunked-lie-that-brian-sicknick-died-from-january-6-chaos\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">repeated <\/a>the debunked lie that Sicknick died from injuries suffered at the Capitol riot. <\/p>\n<h2>Ray Epps Lied to Congress<\/h2>\n<p>Carlson\u2019s third segment focused on the testimony of Ray Epps, a man suspected of being a federal informant who urged protesters to storm the Capitol on both the eve and day of the riot. The FBI has <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/01\/11\/fbi-refuses-to-say-how-many-informants-were-involved-in-jan-6-violence\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">refused to answer<\/a> questions about his alleged connection with federal law enforcement, and the Democrats\u2019 Jan. 6 Committee has sought to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/news\/2022\/dec\/29\/ray-epps-insists-hes-not-fed-newly-released-jan-6-\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">clear his name<\/a> of any wrongdoing after his encouragement to storm the Capitol. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cEpps told the committee that he never entered the Capitol, and therefore never committed a crime,\u201d Carlson said. \u201cText messages show that at 2:12 p.m., he boasted to his nephew that he had \u2018orchestrated the protests at the Capitol.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Epps told the House panel that when he sent the text messages to his nephew, he had already left the complex for his hotel room. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat is not true,\u201d Carlson said. \u201cThe surveillance footage we found shows that in fact, Ray Epps remained at the Capitol for at least another half an hour.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat was Epps doing there? We can\u2019t say,\u201d Carlson added. \u201cBut we do know that he lied to investigators. The Jan. 6 Committee likely knew this too. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., look like a coward running away from protesters. By merely extending the tape by just a few seconds, Carlson showed Hawley merely evacuating the Capitol with other members of Congress. <\/p>\n<figure><\/figure>\n<h2>Tapes Debunk Loudermilk \u2018Reconnaissance Tours\u2019<\/h2>\n<p>More Capitol surveillance footage aired by Fox News exposed another <a href=\"https:\/\/huffman.house.gov\/media-center\/in-the-news\/house-democrats-double-down-on-claims-of-reconnaissance-tours-following-loudermilk-video-release\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Democrat lie<\/a>: that Rep. Barry Loudermilk, R-Ga., gave demonstrators reconnaissance tours ahead of the Jan. 6 riot. The surveillance tapes aired on \u201cTucker Carlson Tonight\u201d show Loudermilk giving a standard tour of the Capitol to constituents. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe FBI totally cleared them,\u201d Loudermilk told Carlson. \u201cThe committee knew this before they actually made their accusations against me.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>Pelosi Left Police Unprepared<\/h2>\n<p>On Tuesday, Carlson indicted former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for leaving Capitol Police officers unprepared to confront mass demonstrations. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou may notice that the one person, really, who was never blamed for anything that happened on Jan. 6, was the very same person who was in charge of the police force, the Capitol Hill police that was charged with security safety on Jan. 6,\u201d Carlson said. \u201cThat person was Nancy Pelosi.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure><\/figure>\n<p>After the speaker barred them from the official select committee, the House Republicans tasked with investigating the riot outlined Pelosi\u2019s negligence in the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/12\/21\/house-republicans-expose-pelosis-culpability-in-jan-6-riot\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">minority report they published\u00a0<\/a>in December. Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., who chaired the House Select Committee on Jan. 6, bizarrely claimed that over its two-year investigation, the panel never analyzed the blockbuster footage aired by Fox News. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m not actually aware of any member of the committee who had access,\u201d Thompson said. \u201cWe had a team of employees who kind of went through the video.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The claim <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/03\/09\/top-democrat-on-j6-committee-we-actually-didnt-review-any-of-the-surveillance-video\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">makes no sense<\/a> when considering lawmakers are supposed to have more access to information than their staff, not less. <\/p>\n<p><strong>[READ: <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/03\/09\/top-democrat-on-j6-committee-we-actually-didnt-review-any-of-the-surveillance-video\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Top Democrat On J6 Committee: We Actually Didn\u2019t Review Any Of The Surveillance Video<\/a>]<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Senate Republicans Cave to Dem Propaganda<\/h2>\n<p>Senate Republican Minority Leader Mitch McConnell talked to reporters Wednesday on Capitol Hill to trash Fox News for airing the Jan. 6 footage.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith regard to the presentation on Fox News last night, I want to associate myself entirely with the opinion of the chief of the Capitol Police about what happened on Jan. 6,\u201d McConnell said, waving around a copy of the memo that Capitol Police Chief Tom Manger had\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/dc-md-va\/2023\/03\/07\/capitol-police-tucker-carlson-footage\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">sent<\/a>\u00a0his department hours earlier calling Carlson\u2019s coverage \u201cfilled with offensive and misleading conclusions.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure>\n<p><span><\/p>\n<blockquote data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">.<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/LeaderMcConnell?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@LeaderMcConnell<\/a>: &#8220;With regard to the presentation on Fox News last night, I want to associate myself entirely with the opinion of the chief of the Capitol police about what happened on January 6th.&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/zB85o0mTFX\">pic.twitter.com\/zB85o0mTFX<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 CSPAN (@cspan) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/cspan\/status\/1633188384150548480?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 7, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><\/span> <\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>The comments made McConnell sound like Democrat Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, who <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/03\/08\/schumer-to-protect-democracy-i-need-the-one-network-i-dont-control-to-stop-airing-raw-footage-of-congress\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">demanded<\/a> that Fox News rip Carlson off the air.<\/p>\n<p><strong>[RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/03\/08\/dear-mitch-mcconnell-you-were-not-elected-to-do-the-bidding-of-chuck-schumer-and-cnn\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Dear Mitch McConnell: You Were Not Elected To Do The Bidding Of Chuck Schumer And CNN<\/a>]<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/03\/07\/senate-republicans-cave-to-dem-propaganda-over-j6-tapes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Other Senate Republicans<\/a> \u2014 who likely failed to watch Carlson\u2019s series on the J6 tapes and relied on CNN reporting instead \u2014 followed in McConnell\u2019s footsteps when confronted with cheap-shot questions from reporters. Utah Sen. Mitt Romney, North Dakota Sen. Kevin Cramer, North Carolina Sen. Thom Tillis, South Dakota Sen. Mike Rounds, and South Carolina Sen.
