It seeks to make daylight savings time permanent and abolish the &#8220;fall back&#8221; Clocks change to fall Daylight savings time is currently observed for eight month of the year. With the Sunshine Protection Act, we can shine a light on the darkest days of the year and deliver more sun, more smiles, and brighter skies.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>Rep. Vern Buchanan (R.FL), introduced companion legislation in Congress. It cited economic benefits and health. Rubio&#8217;s legislation passed unanimously the Senate last year. However, it was killed in Congress after it was never brought up for a vote. <\/p>\n<p>While 19 states have passed legislation that would allow the state to transition to permanent daylight savings time if the federal law is passed, more Americans indicated they want to change to permanent daylight save time. Members on the coasts are pushing for permanent daylight savings, while those at the center of the country are opposed. Indiana, for example, could suffer if daylight saving is made permanent.
