Gavin Newsom (D-Calif.) to play indoor high school sports. On Monday, Orange County student athletes filed a lawsuit against Newsom\u2019s indoor sports ban, alleging a violation of their 14th Amendment equal protection rights.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">NEW: Several O.C. athletes have just filed a lawsuit against Gov. Newsom, seeking a TRO to immediately reopen youth\/high school indoor sports in O.C. under equal protection arguments. They say there&#8217;s no evidence indoor sports safe for college\/pros, but not high school. <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/FOXLA?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@FOXLA<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/bNApUfU67q\">pic.twitter.com\/bNApUfU67q<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Bill Melugin (@BillFOXLA) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BillFOXLA\/status\/1366545347124727815?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 2, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Last week, a San Diego County judge issued a temporary restraining order against the governor\u2019s restrictions, allowing indoor youth sports to play with strict precautions in place.<\/p>\n<p>The indoor ban only concerns California\u2019s youth sports, while college and professional sports have already resumed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey can\u2019t say that it\u2019s okay for the college kids to play, and not okay for the high school kids to play,\u201d Brad Graham, the parent of a student athlete said. \u201cThe time to move forward is now, we don\u2019t believe there\u2019s evidence that the kids couldn\u2019t go back tomorrow.
