Monica De La Cruz (R.Texas), announced that legislation would prohibit Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, from using private jets to travel until he secures America&#8217;s southern border.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Public service is a privilege,&#8221; De La Cruz told reporters during a March 10 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.c-span.org\/video\/?526645-1\/rep-de-la-cruz-news-conference-secretary-mayorkas-travel-legislation\">Press briefing<\/a>Mayorkas said that he shouldn&#8217;t be eligible for the perks of the job if he&#8217;s not performing the duties.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The American people expect our leaders to do our jobs,&#8221; Before claiming that, the congresswoman stated that &#8220;no one has a right to a private jet,&#8221; This should be the case for all cabinet members in the Biden administration.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_4579261\"><figcaption> Monica De La Cruz, (Republican from Texas) believes that her radical opponent&#8217;s views will not be popular with traditional Hispanic voters. (Courtesy Monica De La Cruz<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The bill, according to the congresswoman, outlines what is. &#8220;obvious&#8221; The failure to secure the southern border has resulted in the loss of life and property for her South Texas district as well as the United States. &#8220;hurt all Americans.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Illegal immigration is out of control, and we have a record [amount] of fentanyl entering our country,&#8221; The Texas Republican stated. &#8220;This has produced a humanitarian crisis in communities like mine along the southern border. Enough is enough.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are here today in support of Secretary Mayorkas&#8217; refusal to perform basic office functions. He should be stripped off his right to private flight, and should fly coach as everyone else.<\/p>\n<p>The lawmaker stated that public servants work for American citizens and should be treated the same as private employees.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s real simple folks. If you fail to do your job at work, you just won&#8217;t last very long, and you certainly don&#8217;t get to fly in a private jet.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h2>Impeachment Proceedings<\/h2>\n<p>De La Cruz was questioned by reporters about the timeline of Republicans&#8217; push for Mayorkas impeachment.<\/p>\n<p>According to the lawmaker, she is focusing on legislation that will keep the country safe.<\/p>\n<p>A February 11 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/dhs-hires-outside-legal-counsel-ahead-of-possible-mayorkas-impeachment_5049691.html?ea_src=ai&#038;ea_med=search\">Report<\/a> The Epoch Times reported that The Department of Homeland Security had secured outside representation to prevent possible impeachment proceedings against Mayorkas.<\/p>\n<p>However, Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/rep-gaetz-we-dont-have-the-votes-to-impeach-secretary-mayorkas_5089595.html?ea_src=ai&#038;ea_med=search\">Submitted<\/a> On February 30, reporters reported that Republicans did in fact lack sufficient support to impeach the cabinet minister.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I don&#8217;t think we&#8217;re close to having the votes,&#8221; Gaetz answered when asked if they could still get enough support from the House for impeachment supporters.<\/p>\n<p>Rep.
