Texas) introduced Friday legislation to prevent Secretary of Homeland Security <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/alejandro-mayorkas\"><span>Alejandro Mayorkas<\/span><\/a><span> He stopped flying on federal planes until he proposed a plan to secure America&#8217;s southern border.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The &#8220;Mayorkas Must Fly Coach Until We Secure the Border Act&#8221; Mayorkas would be forced to fly commercially in order to fulfill official duties. Mayorkas is facing a lot of criticism over his response to the aforementioned incident. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/biden-admin-shatters-all-time-record-for-number-of-illegal-alien-encounters-on-southern-border\"><span>record surge<\/span><\/a><span> Illegal immigrants<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>&#8220;This bill simply recognizes what is already obvious to South Texans and millions of Americans: Secretary Mayorkas&#8217; failure to secure the southern border has hurt the American people and resulted in a humanitarian crisis in communities like mine,&#8221; De La Cruz made the statement in a statement to The Daily Wire. &#8220;If he refuses to fulfill the most basic functions of his office, he should be stripped of the private flights he currently enjoys, courtesy of American taxpayers, until he does his job.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Republicans in the Senate and House of Representatives have <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/ted-cruz-pushes-for-dhs-secretary-alejandro-mayorkas-to-be-impeached-quickly\"><span>Push<\/span><\/a><span> Mayorkas must be impeached. Rep. Pat Fallon (R\u2013TX) should be impeached. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/texas-house-republican-files-impeachment-articles-against-dhs-secretary-mayorkas\"><span>Filled<\/span><\/a><span> Articles of impeachment &#8220;high crimes and misdemeanors&#8221; Jan. was a vote against DHS secretary. After Republicans took control of the House after the 2022 midterm election, the impeachment papers were filed. Kevin McCarthy (R. CA), the new House Speaker, promised to investigate Mayorkas.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>De La Cruz was one the Republicans that helped to flip the House for the party when she became the president. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.texastribune.org\/2022\/11\/15\/monica-de-la-cruz-south-texas-congress-republican\/\"><span>First Republican<\/span><\/a><span> Texas&#8217; 15th district, which is historically blue, was chosen to be her representative. The freshman congresswoman campaigned strongly for tightening border security in Texas to protect Texans.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Border Patrol of the United States <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/texas-house-republican-files-impeachment-articles-against-dhs-secretary-mayorkas\"><span>reported<\/span><\/a><span> Pew Research found that encounters with migrants near the U.S.-Mexico frontier in 2021 were more than four times the number in the previous fiscal year, and they were the highest annual total recorded.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>After the close to 600,000 known encounters, there were 2,378,944 U.S. border encounters in fiscal 2022. &#8220;gotaways&#8221; Who escaped from custody.
