Wade<\/span><\/em> <span>five decades ago, abortion has claimed the lives of over 61 million American babies. By the admission of the pro-abortion<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.guttmacher.org\/gpr\/2019\/09\/us-abortion-rate-continues-drop-once-again-state-abortion-restrictions-are-not-main#\"><span>Guttmacher Institute<\/span><\/a><span>, over 862,000 abortions occurred in the year 2017 alone.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>In February, Planned Parentho<\/span><span>od \u2014 wh<\/span><span>ich handles roughly one-third of abortions in the United States<\/span> <span>\u2014<\/span> <span>quietly released its 2019-2020<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.plannedparenthood.org\/uploads\/filer_public\/67\/30\/67305ea1-8da2-4cee-9191-19228c1d6f70\/210219-annual-report-2019-2020-web-final.pdf\"><span>annual report<\/span><\/a><span>. The document revealed that in addition to killing hundreds of thousands of babies, the organization was on the front line of providing transgender hormone treatment and promoting LGBTQ-affirming \u201csexuality education\u201d to children.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Here are six disturbing insights about the activities of America\u2019s largest abortion provider.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Record High Abortions<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span>Planned Parenthood reported 354,871 \u201cabortion procedures\u201d in the past year. This figure amounts to 972 abortions per day and 41 abortions per hour across the United States. In other terms, Planned Parenthood carries out an abortion every ninety seconds.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Though America\u2019s 862,000 annual abortions represent the leading cause of death in the United States, Planned Parenthood\u2019s abortions alone would represent the third-leading cause of death,<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2021\/01\/05\/health\/covid-third-leading-cause-of-death-cdc-wellness\/index.html\"><span>followed<\/span><\/a> <span>distantly by respiratory disease, stroke, and Alzheimer\u2019s disease.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Alongside its abortion statistics, the report lists countless services<\/span> <span>\u2014<\/span> <span>including distribution of emergency contraception kits, STI tests, pregnancy tests, and urinary tract infection treatments<\/span> <span>\u2014<\/span> <span>as \u201caffiliate medical services,\u201d even though most are not surgical in nature. By this standard, abortions constituted 3.4% of Planned Parenthood\u2019s services<\/span> <span>\u2014<\/span> <span>a figure that the group\u2019s supporters often cite to avoid the reality that the organization fundamentally exists to terminate pregnancies.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>For example, Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) noted during a 2015<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=DeilHs9kZ2g\"><span>speech<\/span><\/a> <span>on the Senate floor that \u201cwomen who can\u2019t get appointments anywhere else go to Planned Parenthood for pap tests and cancer screening.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cCouples go to Planned Parenthood for STD treatments or pregnancy tests. Young people go to Planned Parenthood for birth control,\u201d said the former presidential candidate. \u201cAnd yes, 3% of patients visit Planned Parenthood for a safe and legal abortion, with a doctor who will show compassion and care for a woman who is making one of the most difficult decisions of her entire life.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Despite Democratic politicians\u2019 intentional emphasis on Planned Parenthood\u2019s non-abortive services, Planned Parenthood exists as the leading provider of abortion in the United States. Indeed, over half of its<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/news\/over-half-planned-parenthood-revenue-abortion\/\"><span>revenues<\/span><\/a> <span>are derived from abortion, while its market share for other services is often negligible. For example, although Planned Parenthood carried out 272,990 pap smears in the past year, the organization<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/learn\/3percent\/\"><span>conducts<\/span><\/a> <span>less than 1% of pap smears in the United States.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Millions In Government Funds<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span>Accompanying its record-setting abortion count is Planned Parenthood\u2019s record-setting paystub from Uncle Sam.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Taxpayer dollars accounted for $618.1 million of Planned Parenthood\u2019s $1.641 billion in revenues, meaning federal funds accounted for nearly 38% of the organization\u2019s income.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>In last year\u2019s annual report, Planned Parenthood disclosed $617 million in taxpayer funds for abortion. Therefore, as the United States federal government ran a $3.13 trillion budget<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2020\/10\/16\/us-government-budget-ends-fiscal-year-with-a-more-than-3-trillion-deficit.html\"><span>deficit<\/span><\/a><span>, the group received more federal funds than ever before.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Few Adoption Referrals<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span>In comparison to its 354,871 abortions, Planned Parenthood only completed 2,667 adoption referrals. The group effectively facilitated 133 times more abortions than adoptions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Recognizing this reality, Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) recently proposed a<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lifenews.com\/2021\/02\/05\/senator-files-amendment-to-send-planned-parenthoods-tax-dollars-to-adoption-groups\/\"><span>measure<\/span><\/a> <span>that would redirect federal funds give<\/span><span>n to Planned Parenthood into adoption and maternal health programs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cInstead of abusing obscure Senate rules and procedures to give handouts to their favored constituents, why don\u2019t Democrats work across the aisle to help mothers and children in need?\u201d asked Sen. Hawley in February. \u201cIf Democrats are serious about unifying the country, then now is the time to drop divisive, partisan agendas and come together on an issue that all Americans can agree with.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Transgender Hormones<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span>Planned Parenthood also announced that it is currently providing \u201chormone therapy for transgender patients\u201d in more than 200 facilities across 31 states.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cAccessing health care can be challenging for transgender people,\u201d reads the organization\u2019s question-and-answer<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.plannedparenthood.org\/learn\/gender-identity\/transgender\/what-do-i-need-know-about-trans-health-care\"><span>page<\/span><\/a> <span>about transgenderism. \u201cNot all nurses and doctors are sensitive to trans issues or informed about the health care needs of transgender people. You may worry about revealing your gender identity regardless of whether you wish to transition medically. You might not feel comfortable with your body or feel comfortable having a nurse or doctor examine you.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The page includes an extensive glossary for terms related to transgenderism, including \u201ccross-dresser,\u201d \u201cdrag king,\u201d \u201cdrag queen,\u201d \u201cgender nonconforming,\u201d \u201cgender non-binary,\u201d and \u201cgenderqueer.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>In addition, transgender individuals can receive information about hormone injections from local Planned Parenthood chapters. For instance, the website for Planned Parenthood of Illinois includes<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.plannedparenthood.org\/planned-parenthood-illinois\/patient-resources\/gender-affirming-hormone-therapy\"><span>descriptions<\/span><\/a> <span>of its \u201cgender affirming hormone therapy,\u201d which could include feminizing medications, anti-androgen medications, and masculinizing medications.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Deviant Sexuality Education<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span>Planned Parenthood spent $61.6 million on \u201csexuality education\u201d last year.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>In comparison, Planned Parenthood spent $58.3 million on sexuality education in its previous fiscal year, marking a 5.7% increase in expenditures.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Planned Parenthood explicitly<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.plannedparenthoodaction.org\/issues\/sex-education\/abstinence-only-programs\"><span>denounces<\/span><\/a> <span>\u201cabstinence-only-until-marriage\u201d programs and describes its intention to \u201cfight against\u201d them. Instead, it seeks to push for \u201csex education laws and funding that support the full range of sex education topics that young people need.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>In addition to covering topics such as birth control and sexual orientation, Planned Parenthood<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.plannedparenthoodaction.org\/issues\/sex-education\/how-planned-parenthood-teaches-sex-education\"><span>asserts<\/span><\/a> <span>that \u201cLGBTQ youth deserve to learn in settings that are inclusive of their experiences,\u201d since \u201cfar too many LGBTQ youth are sitting in classrooms where their teachers and textbooks fail to address their experiences.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>In a partnership with several LGBTQ activist groups \u2014 including the Human Rights Campaign, which recently<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.campusreform.org\/article?id=16402\"><span>encouraged<\/span><\/a> <span>President Biden to strip accreditation from Christian schools unsupportive of their agenda \u2014 Planned Parenthood developed a \u201c<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.plannedparenthood.org\/files\/1014\/4906\/8078\/Inclusive_Sex_Education.pdf?_ga=2.33981665.1786204323.1614665821-1920806477.1614242067\"><span>call to action<\/span><\/a><span>\u201d that detailed the history and status of sex education in the United States.
