Elise Stefanik, R-NY. (in conversation). The conversation between Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY.) and FBI Director Christopher Wray was already icy and contentious at the time Stefanik asked Wray. &#8220;Do you believe the Hunter Biden laptop story is disinformation?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Wray responded, &#8220;Well, I want to be careful about\u2014there is an ongoing investigation that is relevant to that, so I have to be careful on what I can share on that here.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Stefanik shot back, &#8220;Do you believe the Hunter Biden laptop story is disinformation?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I don&#8217;t think there&#8217;s anything I can share on that in an open setting,&#8221; Wray spoke.<\/p>\n<p>Stefanik kept asking questions and interrogating. &#8220;Were you aware that the FBI personnel were in contact with Twitter regarding the Hunter Biden laptop story?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I don&#8217;t believe FBI personnel were in contact with Twitter about the Hunter laptop story, specifically,&#8221; Wray spoke. &#8220;I think there were people in contact with Twitter about Russian disinformation efforts.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Stefanik responded: &#8220;Of which the Hunter Biden laptop story was included, according to the FBI.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Well, I think, I don&#8217;t know exactly what you&#8217;re looking at, but I&#8217;m happy to talk about what the FBI does and does not do with respect to social media companies,&#8221; Wray spoke.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_5113349\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/localimages\/GettyImages-1472348331-1200x801.jpg\"><figcaption><\/figcaption><\/a> Christopher Wray, FBI Director (right), William Burns, Director for National Intelligence Avril Hayines, Director at National Intelligence Avril Haiines, Director at National Security Agency Gen. (Win McNamee\/Getty Images)<\/figure>\n<h2>\u2018The American People Deserve Answers&#8217;<\/h2>\n<p>Stefanik, chairwoman of the House Republican Conference, questioned the\u00a0FBI director during the hearing at which Wray and other top intelligence officials and spymasters testified and answered questions on &#8220;worldwide threats&#8221; America<\/p>\n<p><span>Stefanik was one of a few GOP members who declared that if Republicans regained the House, there would be lots of fact-finding and investigation into FBI conduct.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The focus of the legislators was and remains on the FBI behind-the scenes intrusion in 2020 presidential campaign to suppress truth about Hunter Biden&#8217;s computer that, if revealed, could hurt his father&#8217;s chances of winning the election.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_3635745\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/localimages\/GettyImages-1229207349-1200x835.jpg\"><figcaption><\/figcaption><\/a> A man walks past &#8220;The Mac Shop&#8221; Wilmington, Del. on October 21, 2020 (Angela Weiss\/AFP via Getty Images)<\/figure>\n<p><span>Concerning was also the motivation and decision-making process of the bureau regarding the raid on Trump&#8217;s Palm Beach home Mar-a-Lago. The action, which the lawmakers labeled federal overreach as well as a witch hunt, is of particular concern.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Stefanik was faithful to her promise and didn&#8217;t let Wray down during the hearing.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Were you aware that the FBI had Hunter Biden&#8217;s laptop since December of 2019?&#8221; asked Stefanik.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I can&#8217;t speak to exactly when we had a laptop available,&#8221; Wray. &#8220;There is, as you know, an ongoing investigation run by the U. S. attorney out of Delaware from the prior administration that we continue to work very closely with.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Stefanik retorted, &#8220;And we have an ongoing investigation as well.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;And our Baltimore field office is working very hard with that U.S. attorney, and I expect them to pursue that case as far as it takes,&#8221; According to the FBI director.<\/p>\n<p>Not satisfied, Stefanik said, &#8220;This stonewalling, Director Wray; the American people deserve answers, and this is unacceptable.&#8221;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_4940691\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/localimages\/8_8-GettyImages-1242395653-1200x798.jpg\"><figcaption><\/figcaption><\/a> On Aug. 8, 2022, a police car is seen outside the residence of former President Donald Trump at Mar-A-Lago in Palm Beach, Fla. as the FBI searches his house for classified documents. (GIORGIO VIERA\/AFP via Getty Images).<\/figure>\n<p>Stefanik changed her inquiry to a different episode of FBI intelligence.<\/p>\n<p>Stefanik asked, &#8220;Lastly, did you sign off on the Mar-a-Lago raid?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Well, first off, it was not a raid\u2014it was an execution of a search warrant,&#8221; Wray spoke.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Did you sign off on the execution of a search warrant?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Wray answered, &#8220;May I finish?
