Brad Wenstrup (R\u2013OH), <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/restoring-america\/fairness-justice\/covid-19-origins-hearing-wuhan-lab-leak-fauci\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">chairman<\/a> House Select Committee for the Coronavirus Pandemic <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.c-span.org\/video\/?526442-1\/us-intelligence-directors-testify-global-threats&#038;live\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Telled<\/a> Haines on Thursday &#8220;it&#8217;s my understanding that the DOE would be willing to show us their underlying report, especially their updated report, but since ODNI owns the assessment you have to approve that.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>Haines replied, &#8220;On the DOE assessment, absolutely, I suspect it would have to be in classified form; I&#8217;m sure it&#8217;s a classified report, but more than happy to share any final assessment that they&#8217;ve done if they are comfortable with it. I can&#8217;t imagine myself standing in the way.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>Wenstrup also claimed that &#8220;finding the origins of covid is important&#8221; Haines replied that he had asked ODNI several times who the intelligence community spoke with during assessments of COVID-19\u2019s origins. He also requested that Haines share this information. Haines refused to back down. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;One problem for us is that we obviously want to be able to consult with outside expertise \u2026 in fields related to COVID-19,&#8221; Haines added that experts from outside often provide valuable insight. &#8220;do not want to be known as consulting with the intelligence community.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>Wenstrup claimed that he was speaking about Haines sharing this information in a classified environment, emphasizing that &#8220;we need to know who they are&#8221; To better understand why certain elements of spy agencies have landed where they do. <\/p>\n<p>Haines refused to reveal the names of outside experts, even in classified settings.
