The Daily Pass is a web page that asks students to check boxes each day confirming that they do not have symptoms of the novel coronavirus. After students complete a check-in, the website generates a \u201cDaily Pass\u201d which students can print out and use to enter LAUSD buildings.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>In the video, thenarrator asks, \u201chas this conversation taken place at your home?\u201d A little girl proceeds to tell her mom she\u2019s afraid to return to school because she doesn\u2019t want to get her parents sick.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cMom, I\u2019m scared about going back to school. I don\u2019t want to get sick and I don\u2019t want to get you and dad sick,\u201d the little girl says.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The video proceeds to detail how students will need to take a COVID-19 test each week at school or at another testing facility.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">this is a real video by Los Angeles Unified School District<a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/7RFVLB6aqE\">pic.twitter.com\/7RFVLB6aqE<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Corey A. There are currently no vaccines that are approved for children under the age of 16.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>According to the LAUSD<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/achieve.lausd.net\/dailypass\"><span>website<\/span><\/a><span>, students will meet a \u201cwelcomer\u201d each day at the front of school buildings who will scan their \u201cDaily Pass\u201d and take temperature checks.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The \u201cDaily Pass\u201d announcement comes after Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom announced plans to reopen schools. The plan includes cash incentives for schools that reopen quickly and safely.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Los Angeles schools are approaching the one-year anniversary of lockdowns. Despite negotiations, the United Teachers of Los Angeles (UTLA) \u2014 the largest teacher union in California \u2014 has decried Newsom\u2019s plan for reopening schools as \u201cpropagating structural racism.\u201d The union insists that all teachers and staff get vaccinated before reopening.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The Daily Wire<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/la-teachers-union-claims-california-is-propagating-structural-racism-by-reopening-schools\"><span>reported<\/span><\/a><span>:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><em><span>In a press conference Monday, the head of the UTLA claimed that the plan not only put teachers in danger of contracting COVID-19 but also perpetuated \u201cstructural racism.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><span>\u201cWe are being unfairly targeted by people who are not experiencing this disease in the same ways as students and families are in our communities. If this was a rich person\u2019s disease, we would\u2019ve seen a very different response. We would not have the high rates of infections and deaths,\u201d UTLA President Cecily Myart-Cruz said, per Politico. \u201cNow educators are asked instead to sacrifice ourselves, the safety of our students and the safety of our schools.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span>The Chicago Teacher Union (CTU) and Washington Teacher Union (WTU) have made similar declarations that reopening schools is a form of racism. In a since-deleted tweet, the CTU<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/chicago-teachers-union-claims-push-to-open-schools-is-racist-and-sexist-sues-to-stop-plan\"><span>claimed<\/span><\/a> <span>that the push to reopen schools was a form of \u201csexism, racism, and misogyny.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>A WTU leader<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/washington-teachers-union-president-returning-to-in-person-instruction-is-white-privilege\"><span>claimed<\/span><\/a> <span>that reopening schools for in-person learning is a form of \u201cwhite supremacy\u201d and that concerns about students\u2019 mental health are a form of \u201cwhite privilege.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><span>The Daily Wire is one of America\u2019s fastest-growing conservative media companies and counter-cultural outlets for news, opinion, and entertainment.
