(Photo by Swedish Coast Guard via Getty Images).<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>OAN Roy Francis<br \/>UPDATED 8:57 AM PT \u2013 Wednesday, March 8, 2023<\/p>\n<p>Authorities investigating the sabotage of the Nord Stream pipelines had searched a vessel that was suspected of carrying explosives which were used in the blasts, German officials revealed on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1663871513696-art-1\" style=\"min-width: 320px; min-height: 50px;  text-align: center;\">  \t<script>  \t\tgoogletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1663871513696-art-1'); });  \t<\/script>  <\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p>The German Federal Prosecutor\u2019s office released a statement which stated that the ship was searched from January 18<sup>th<\/sup> to January 20<sup>th<\/sup> \u201cin connection with a suspicious ship rental.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote data-service=\"twitter\" data-category=\"marketing\" data-placeholder-image=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/localimages\/twitter-minimal.jpg6408d38f4eb40.jpg\" class=\"cmplz-placeholder-element twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\u26a1\ufe0fGerman investigators raided the ship in January that\u2019s suspected of being linked to Nord Stream explosion \u2014 German media citing federal prosecutors<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 War Monitor (@WarMonitors) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/WarMonitors\/status\/1633407430116745216?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 8, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script type=\"text\/plain\" data-service=\"twitter\" data-category=\"marketing\" async data-cmplz-src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script> <\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>In September 2022, explosions at two locations near the coast of Sweden, and two off the coast of Denmark caused massive leaks in the Nord Stream 1 and 2 pipelines. The two pipelines had been made to transport gas from Russia to Germany. Sweden\u2019s Secret Service had revealed that traces of explosives were found on the seabed, which confirmed that the explosions were a result of sabotage.<\/p>\n<p>European countries, and the United States, had placed the blame on Russia, while Russia denied involvement and accused the Western powers of ordering the sabotage.<\/p>\n<p>The two pipelines have long been criticized due to the threat they posed to Europe\u2019s energy security by having the continent overly dependent on the gas transported through them from Russia.<\/p>\n<p>Operations on both pipelines were ceased after the war in Ukraine began. Germany refused to certify Nord Stream 2 after Russia had invaded, and Moscow ceased operation on Nord Stream 1 weeks before the sabotage.<\/p>\n<p>The officials conducting the investigation stated that their \u201cevaluation of the seized traces and objects is ongoing,\u201d and that the company that had officially rented the vessel was not a suspect in the investigation. They offered little details and said that no suspects have yet been arrested, or identified and that they are still conducting their investigations into the perpetrators. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The statement was released days after a report from the New York Times suggested that both United States and European intelligence suspected a pro-Ukrainian group was responsible for the sabotage of the pipelines. <\/p>\n<p>German newspaper Die Zeit and broadcasters ARD and SWR reported that the ship responsible was based in Poland and was rented by Ukrainians. Kyiv, however, had denied any involvement in the sabotage.<\/p>\n<p>German Defense Minister urged caution as he suggested that the sabotage may have been done without the knowledge of the Ukrainian government in order to frame them.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cWe have to make a clear distinction whether it was a Ukrainian group, whether it may have happened at Ukrainian orders, or a pro-Ukrainian group (acting) without knowledge of the government. But I am warning against jumping to conclusions,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Ukrainian presidential advisor Mikhailo Podolyak addressed the reports on Twitter.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cAlthough I like to collect interesting conspiracy theories about the Ukrainian government, I must point out that Ukraine has no connection to the incident in the Baltic Sea and no information about \u2018pro-Ukrainian sabotage groups,&#8217;\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote data-service=\"twitter\" data-category=\"marketing\" data-placeholder-image=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/localimages\/twitter-minimal.jpg6408d38f4eb40.jpg\" class=\"cmplz-placeholder-element twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Although I enjoy collecting amusing conspiracy theories about \ud83c\uddfa\ud83c\udde6 government, I have to say: \ud83c\uddfa\ud83c\udde6 has nothing to do with the Baltic Sea mishap and has no information about &#8220;pro-\ud83c\uddfa\ud83c\udde6 sabotage groups&#8221;. What happened to the Nord Stream pipelines? &#8220;They sank,&#8221; as they say in RF itself\u2026<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 \u041c\u0438\u0445\u0430\u0439\u043b\u043e \u041f\u043e\u0434\u043e\u043b\u044f\u043a (@Podolyak_M) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Podolyak_M\/status\/1633160394427494415?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 7, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script type=\"text\/plain\" data-service=\"twitter\" data-category=\"marketing\" async data-cmplz-src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script> <\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Moscow also denounced the reports and claimed that whoever was behind the attack was trying to divert attention from the real culprit by taking part in a \u201ccoordinated lead\u201d and giving information to the international media. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov also demanded that Russia be allowed to be involved in the investigation of the blasts.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s not just weird.
